Americans should push back on mask mandates and broad lockdowns amid the coronavirus pandemic, Sen. Rand Paul said on Tuesday, arguing that policymakers need to "reassess" the effectiveness of such actions.
“We have mask mandates in dozens of states and countries and every — without fail, every time we’ve instituted a mandate the actual incidence of the disease has risen. So there is no evidence that these mandates are working and we’re crippling the economy. Maybe we ought to reassess what we’re doing,” Paul told “America’s Newsroom.”
“I think there are reasonable things you can do in school. For the small children, I wouldn’t have them wearing masks. I don’t think it makes any difference. We ought to reassess what we’re doing on this."
...
Paul objected to the school closing mandate due to the fact that children are “poor transmitters” of the coronavirus. Paul also said that mask mandates “illustrate the danger of centralizing power and decision making in one person or in Washington” considering when they have been “so wrong as Dr. Fauci has been.”
Paul said that Fauci’s decisions have had “grave effects for school children,” notwithstanding the “evidence has been clear for six months in Europe and Asia that schools don’t lead to a surge.”
“Trying to take precautions is reasonable. But there are now people saying -- Dr. Fauci included -- when we have a vaccine, you will still have to wear a mask.
“People do need to push back. I’m one of those who are immune and keep pushing back. 13 million Americans have had this. We don’t need to tell them they have to wear a mask. Immunity is working. It is working as well as a vaccine. When we get the vaccine hopefully we can all be free of these encumbrances.”

Go Rand!
Ha Ha Ha!
80% of the country are sheep and/or lemmings.
More like 99% around here. Lots of times I’m the only one in the store who isn’t wearing a mask.
I am doing my part. I do not wear a mask. When in line I step two feet above the six foot line. Ya know, just cuz.
How does one push back other than just say we need to push back. Give some examples.
In New Mexico one of the strictest controlled states all I can do as one person is refuse to wear the mask and carry on as normal. Not sure what the heck a lockdown means. The only lock down we have is small businesses the gov rules cannot be open. There is a silly quarantine that is ignored so going to Durango co. To shop and coming back no one quarantines for the 14 day demand. Business is hurt the worst.
surprised to find BBC documentary presenter, Neil Oliver, being so forthright in this interview. from what Mike Graham says, it’s not the first time he’s interviewed Oliver on the subject:
Youtube: 21m20s: 25 Nov: Talk Radio UK: Neil Oliver: ‘We’ve surrendered liberty in the name of this virus’
Speaking to Mike Graham on his regular slot, the (TV presenter &) archaeologist said “there’s a fundamental principle at stake about liberty and freedom.”...

Neil Oliver has presented numerous BBC historical and archaeological documentary series, including A History of Scotland, A History of Ancient Britain, A History of Celtic Britain, The Celts: Blood, Iron and Sacrifice, Vikings, Sacred Wonders of Britain, The Last Explorers, Scotland and the Klan, Britain’s Ancient Capital: Secrets of Orkney, Rise of the Clans and Coast. In 2017, he was appointed president of the National Trust for Scotland. - Wikipedia
should have added it’s unlikely Oliver will be doing any more BBC programs.
Definitely! Go Rand! More people have to say this and be prepared to fight back.
Just stop wearing the damn muzzles. Force businesses into the uncomfortable position of making you leave. Don’t ever return to said business. If you live in a Soviet-held territory that tries to fine you for not wearing a muzzle, tear up the citation and make them bring you to court.
Nice mom n pop store nearby (one location but just built a new, bigger store a couple years ago, and it’s the only full-service store in the small town) has a mask sign on the door. The sign explains that they are supposed to require masks, but if you have a health condition you don’t need to wear one and they aren’t allowed to ask. In other words, permission to not wear a mask in their store.
A couple months ago, maybe 40% of the customers in the store would be wearing masks. I stop at this store about twice a month. But the other day I was the only person in the store with no sign of a mask displayed. All the good little sheep had them over mouth and nose. I saw one woman who had hers under her chin. Everyone else was wearing it per democrat rules.
The stupidity and/or ignorance of the populace makes me weep for the future.
I think The Science would support a 528 ft. distancing as being more effective than the lame 6 ft. distance.
I could be wrong but Rand Paul might also be the only senator who is openly questioning the outcome of the election.
You’re not the only one, Hartley.
I haven’t worn a mask In Walmart, grocery store, church, restaurants, Lowe’s...EVER! But the lemmings still refuse to think for themselves
Yeah, I think it’s getting worse around here, too. For a while I could count on seeing a couple other maskless shoppers in Walmart or Safeway, but now I’m the only one more often than not. Even had a few Karens make snotty remarks recently. When that happens, I like to pretend that I can’t understand what they’re saying, and then if they pull down their masks to talk louder, I mock their hypocrisy. People like that want antagonism, but they can’t handle ridicule.
DON’T WEAR A FREAKING MASK !!!
I’m doing my part. Never wear a mask. Well...except once at he doctors. But that’s where all the sick people are.
Easy for you to say in FL.
Yes... check his twitter feed he is sharing links to the cases and fraud.
