Governor Phil Murphy (D-NJ) said on this week’s broadcast of “Fox News Sunday” that a statewide coronavirus shutdown was still “on the table.”
Fill-in anchor Bret Baier said, “You have not ruled out a statewide shutdown like you did in the spring. Why is that? You hear the WHO saying it’s the last possible resort, considering the economic impact of that. You heard Dr. Anthony Fauci say something similar, but yet you’re saying it’s possible in your state?”

I tell you what would really make a difference here, a big federal stimulus sooner than later with a lifeline to small businesses, restaurants, folks who are unemployed. That would be a game-changer. Not just in their lives and in their prospects, but it gives us more degrees of freedom in terms of dealing with the virus.
Why can’t these jerks mind their own business? Oh wait, they’re competing to be the most controlling, arrogant governors.

I disagree. You got it backwards. He wants the stimulus to minimize the impact of the shutdown. He’s already decided to do a shutdown, he just wants federal stimulus to facilitate his decision.

When the Government shuts down my business it is called a taking and I want just compensation like what was done for PPP. I have no moral qualms about what I applied for and received in April/May. That being said, should we shutdown again? No way.
Government needs to provide politically free health guidance and then let everyone make their own informed decisions and get out of the way.
No money should be given to any state as they never furloughed or laid off anyone or did anything to cut back. Secondly, states like NJ were already in serious trouble financially before Wuhan came.

Then the plan is for Walmart, Target, Amazon, to take over small businesses with satellite neighborhood stores. What will be left will be service businesses like dry cleaners, plumbers, pizza joints. Socialism Dem style is about Big Govt as an umbrella over Big Business, Big Finance, Big Entertainment and Sports and Bid Labor and Big Education. COVID is the path to achieving this.
Governor Murphy no doubt made the announcement from his favorite sidewalk bistro while surrounded by his family and undercover NJ State Troopers to keep the prols at bay.

A map shows Dominion machines were used the heaviest in Republican counties like Monmouth and Ocean. Add to that NJ never having paper backup of ballots in case anything goes wrong with the machines.

I’ve done nothing but COVID since February, I know the factions in Public Health well, I follow the work of most of the incoming COVID team, Biden has little freedom to make a big “first hundred days” splash in any serious policy areas which are controlled by international and local powers, but he CAN do a European style COVID program, which is very popular with the general public, especially with $6 trillion to individuals instead of the money center banks - so that what he will do.
