Train lovers will love this opportunity!
Take it from someone who works from home a lot; it’s not easy. There are distractions everywhere, it’s hard to get motivated, and sometimes (depending on who’s home) it’s loud and hard to concentrate. So if you’ve been slugging away at teleworking and need a little change of atmosphere, here’s an idea: book a teleworking space on an express train!
For two days at the end of the month, you can reserve a seat on the Narita Express, which will be hanging out at Tokyo’s Ryogoku Station expressly for this purpose. Since JR East has decreased the number of running Narita Express trains due to the pandemic, they thought of this as way to make use of the train, and perhaps to make back a little bit of the money they’re losing from decreased tourism.
That means that you will get to hang out on a real N’EX train, as it’s lovingly referred to in Japanese; it won’t be a replica. As such, it has all the fittings of a moving train: soft reclining seats, tables, Wi-Fi, and power outlets–everything you need to get the job done.

Why not get out on the high seas (or low) on a submarine?
No feeling of being cooped up there! :)
I think I would make it a little past an hour on a submarine because I started banging on the walls and hyperventilating.
One ironic things about all this is that for those of us who have even slight agoraphobia...it has become very easy to make excused to almost never leave the house.
I try to get out at least somewhat 3 days a week.
Life is not meant to be lived indoors most of the time.
We all have our fears and we all must face them and fight them.
Happy Thanksgiving!!
The other day I left my basement office for a dentist appointment - I was never so happy to be at a dentists office (the receptionist said they get a lot of that).
later
Instant peace.;-)
Wierd aint it? that blonde dental hygienist is a cutie..
The Wall Street Journal recently had an article about people in Asia working in amusement parks, including on the Ferris wheel.
At some point, SpaceX Starlink satellite internet will allow you to work from a fishing boat, or a camper in the woods.
I can do MS Word as well as the next guy, but some work requires real work.
In Japan, who knows?
It is an odd place :)
I wouldn’t mind a boat ride right now. Farther south enough to feel the Trades blowing on my skin.
