Dominion’s machines can do ADA “assisted” voting for the handicapped. Or whoever wants to do it that way when offered the option by election “helpers”.

The voting is done by touchscreen, and then their ballot is printed for use in the scanner.

The marks printed in the ovals can be any of thousands in the Dominion system, so they look hand-marked.

The real question is: “Why should the machine use a variety of human-looking marks?”

I am not yet certain, re generations of laser printers -— there are by now, many, but I would think that only a special-purpose laser printer cartridge’s “ink” would penetrate - but to a lesser extent.

Meaning, I’m not sure how well you can forge depth, with a laser printer.
