He served 30 years and was released by Obama. See link I just posted.
All traitors deserve to have their necks stretched
They destroyed Yassir Arafat’s PLO headquarters and killed 60 terrorists. Pretty good result.
I hate traitors as much as anybody, but when it comes to Pollard, there is a special viciousness. The guy did not compromise American security and he served his full 30 year term.
Even for murderers, we recognize distinctions between the character of the actions and conclude that there are some killings that don’t warrant the death penalty. Many other spies who actually sold information to our enemies received lighter jail sentences. But not for Pollard. Pollard must die and no amount of punishment short of death is good enough for him to repay his debt.
He wasn’t released by Obama. He finished his sentence.
I believe Obama had to sign off on it because of the nature of the crime.
It’s a Trump gift to Netenyahu.
I wouldn’t mind hearing a few more details about that, if you would be so kind.
The facts on Pollard:
The US had an intelligence sharing agreement with Israel.
New President Lyndon Johnson came in.
Johnson said, “Ha ha, I myself didn’t make this agreement with Israel.”
Johnson cut off Israel from US intelligence.
At that point Pollard gave Israel US intelligence that Israel would have getting if Johnson hadn’t done that.
Meanwhile Pollard and others knew that Casper Weinberger [among others] had been supplying Sadam Hussein with chemical weapons made at a Rockville, Maryland location during the Iran-Iraq war, where the US backed Iraq.
Weinberger was frantic not to let this info out, and that was the source of his violent vendetta against Pollard, including accusing Polllard of treasonous acts that Aldrich Ames and others did, and trying to keep Pollard from ever being interviewed or allowed to speak.
Unfortunately no they all did not get life. Believe it or not Lee went on to work as a personal assistant for Sean Penn. Boyce did a good bit of time but he was released, one can google articles about him. One of the worst ann montes gets out in 2023 i believe these were straight up traitors and should have been executed.
Hi.
Pollard, Walkers, Hansens etc. should all have been executed by hanging. Within a reasonable amount of time.
Deserters by firing squad and corrupt politicians from lampposts.
Just saying.

Pollard did not get into trouble because of something Weinberger may or may not have done.
Pollard got into trouble because of what “MadMax, the Grinning Reaper” said in reply 32, above:
“it was for Israel’s defense against an Arab “Nuclear Troika” (Iran, Iraq and Syria)”
When Pollard got into trouble, the specifics of that, was a secret, and they remain a secret.

Don’t forget that Hansen’s wife knew that he had sold secrets at one time. She supposedly did not know the extent of it, but she was able to collect his retirement under the deal that was cut and to me that is infuriating.
And he in turn congratulated Biden. No this is simply a sell out of America.
“Illegal” or unconstitutional? Not to mention, I’m replying to accusations of “treason” here.
At one time, it was “illegal” in many states for slaves to flee their masters.
Pollard didn’t start spying for Israel until 1984. Johnson was long gone and dead by then.
We share what we choose to share with other countries. We hold back information to protect sources and methods. Rank and file people like Pollard do not get to second-guess it.
You another one that got lost on the way to a different forum?
Weinberger was US Secretary of Defense under Reagan then.
“Weinberger was US Secretary of Defense under Reagan then.”
Yes, but you were linking things to Lyndon Johnson. And can I have a cite for the Rockville, MD, chemical weapons production? I grew up not far from there.
