I always remember when Ferdinand Marcos of the Philippines, got laws passed to register handguns.

The American news media said the USA should do the same. I said he will soon confiscate the guns!

Not long after, Marcos confiscated the registered handguns. The US news media said the US should do the same! I said Marcos is getting ready to seize total power.

Not long after, Marcos seized power. The US news media began to weep and wail about how they could NOT see it coming!

Come to find out, I was not the only one who saw what was coming, but the news media could not see a thing.

If he's trying to cover an AR-15 under the same law as machine guns, can I pay the $200 and legally modify it to full-auto?

You said that wrong.
They could clearly see but deliberately did not report just like they don’t here.

Nope. You're far from alone. Try taxing my weapons and watch what happens.

I will NOT comply. F.U. Beijing Biden!

I’d love to see them trying to enforce that tax... Bring it on!

"This is a perfect example of where State Nullification could apply. Imagine if any state simply said: sorry, Fed.gov. We are not collecting any tax on guns. That is unconstitutional. Our state will not enforce it, nor will we allow Fed.gov to enforce it within our state."

This is what I propose for the state of Texas. Texas should declare and codify the states is exempt from any and all federal gun laws and regulation. No restrictions on guns whatsoever just as the second amendment clearly states and federal agents would have no jurisdiction in the entire state.

I think Texas should do this even after President Trump wins his second term challenge.

the communist democrats just keep pushing for a Constitutional hard conflict and will keep it up until they get their way or they lose it all. It’s the American citizen’s choice of who this ends up. We either accept slavery or fight for liberty.

What is it we are doing when we have to fill out so many forms at BassPro, or at any gun counter when we purchase a firearm? Aren’t we already self-reporting?

Seriously, you think they are going to lose another election? IF-IF the Republicans retain the senate we have a two year reprieve and then the senate is gone and most of the governorship’s. The ballot box is gone and once the leftist take the senate you will see SCOTUS made irrelevant.

As Reagan said a time for choosing is upon the country and gun owners. We are reaching the use’em or lose’em moment probably around spring or summer 2023.

There are states that tried to make AR owners register their rifles after Sandy Hook. Nobody did.

Thank God we have a conservative leaning supreme court. Thank you Mr. President.

The jury is still out on that one.

It would be a lot easier to enforce a 55 mph speed limit than to do this.... and we know how the speed limit thing worked out.

(1) Only Congress constitutionally can levy taxes: “The Congress shall have Power To lay and collect Taxes, Duties, Imposts and Excises, to pay the Debts and provide for the common Defence and general Welfare of the United States; but all Duties, Imposts and Excises shall be uniform throughout the United States;”

(2) Bills for raising revenue must originate in the House of Representatives, not the Presidency: “All Bills for raising Revenue shall originate in the House of Representatives; but the Senate may propose or concur with Amendments as on other Bills.”

So our President cannot enact such a ridiculous tax with an executive order. But what if Congress passes it as a law, which the President signs?

(3) “A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.”

And in McCulloch versus Maryland, the Supreme Court described “the power to tax” as a form of “the power to destroy,” which goes far beyond mere infringement!

So this is clearly unconstitutional. As a tax on guns already owned, it probably also violates
(4) the right to property and

(5) the requirements for the apportionment of direct taxes.

force everyone else to register the guns under the National Firearms Act.

Dems love to use force against law abiding Americans.
