I just did my annual online diversity training for work. A lot of time spent on making sure you use the proper “pronouns” for your co-workers. You also go through an exercise asking you how you can “help” your co-worker with their gender transition. Also gets Orwellian at one point. It starts out with a disclaimer at the beginning that you are not required to change your beliefs or values. Then halfway through it goes off on a weird tangent about how changing your actions will have the effect of changing the way you think, right in the middle of a course that only exists to tell you how to change your actions. Also, you’re apparently not allowed to pet a seeing-eye dog.
I had (and it is ongoing) to take mandatory diversity training for my job.
Thankfully, it is all online. I take photos of the BS and text it to my like minded girlfriends so we can be outraged and discuss.
Also my “goals” now have to have a diversity component. So, to complete that I signed up for another 3 hour “divershitty workshop”.
Struggle sessions.
I work there now. They already have a sexual harassment thing everyone has to go to and repeat a couple of rightthink phrases. My plan for this is to invent some category to put myself in and tell HR that someone has “oppressed” me in some way. That should be handy to pull out in case of anything that is filed against me.
What a waste of everyone’s time that injects suspicion into every motive.
The next required course will be Alchemy. Then Hocus Pocus 101
The hard sciences used to be the last bastion against this feeling-based madness. Now, it has come for them.
For those of us who graduated from Rensselaer Poly, it has been with us for more than two decades already.
