Prior lawyers pulled out of a federal lawsuit in Pennsylvania Friday.
President Donald Trump has installed Rudy Giuliani to lead the legal efforts he has mounted to resuscitate his failed bid for a second term in office, a move that comes after a series of court defeats Friday, two sources told ABC News.
A spokesperson for Giuliani confirmed his expanded role for the president.
The decision, first reported by The New York Times, also came following court filings from the law firm that had been handling some of the Trump campaign's legal efforts. Lawyers from K Street firm Porter Wright Morris & Arthur have asked to withdraw from the federal lawsuit the Trump campaign filed in Pennsylvania to challenge the election results there.

BUMP!
Not so much if he jumps into the weeds.
Looks at those number and the percentage of votes in.
What an embarrassment of a country..a banana republic not worthy of redemption...if the “called results” stand.
This.
a banana republic...Obama’s legacy
What “series of defeats Friday” are they talking about?
I think they're referring to another law firm withdrawing from representing the campaign and the fact that about half a dozen suits in several states were dismissed.
Give him a good team to work with. I don’t see Giuliani doing it on his own.
Rudy has always been a bulldog for Trump. He’s loyal and a fighter. I wonder if Trump considered Sidney Powell and if she would head the team. Sidney being on the team is a big plus.
Thats a lot of mail ballots to counter Election Day. I suspect if it wasnt for mail ballots this year Trump wouldve won easily. If mass mail ballots voting becomes the norm I would not expect future Republican presidents. The nation will have followed Californias path into permanent signal party control
[I dont see Giuliani doing it on his own.]
Oh okay, thanks for the info.
Even so, that’s to be expected in high-stakes, high-profile cases. Lots of reasons why law firms withdraw — some perfectly proper, some not. And “peripheral” suits are dismissed (or consolidated) all the time.
I think what gets me mad is that so many people start wailing “OH NOES! Doom and gloom! All is lost!” when things either don’t happen as fast as they’d like, or when there’s any shadow of an obstacle.
RUDY took down the mob. He can take down PA.
He used RICO to take down the mob, didn't he?
I wonder if they're going to try to use RICO for this, too, and he would be the expert.
This is going to be a cliffhanger ending, that’s for sure.
Yeah, but the mob didn't have 99.9% of the mainstream media supporting them and lying on their behalf.
What’s the source of these graphics?
These graphics reflect pretty much my gut feel about these states, except Pennsylvania is perhaps a bit high for Trump. However, with Biden promising to destroy Pennsylvania’s energy industries, maybe not.
Swapping the Pennsylvania and Georgia numbers would reflect closer to my gut feel.
