Pollak: The Key Question Is Why Vote-by-Mail Rejection Rate Dropped Dramatically
Breitbart ^ | 12 Nov 2020 | Joel B. Pollak

The key empirical question that must be asked about the 2020 election results is why the rejection rate for vote-by-mail ballots dropped dramatically from the primary season, when mass vote-by-mail began in some states, to the general election.

Absentee ballots, which are traditionally a very small proportion of the vote in most states, are typically rejected at a rate of 1% to 2%. However, the rate of faulty absentee ballots rose to 25% after mass vote-by-mail was adopted earlier this year.

The Washington Post reported in August:

More than 534,000 mail ballots were rejected during primaries across 23 states this year — nearly a quarter in key battlegrounds for the fall — illustrating how missed delivery deadlines, inadvertent mistakes and uneven enforcement of the rules could disenfranchise voters and affect the outcome of the presidential election.

Nevada’s Clark County saw 17 percent of vote-by-mail ballots returned as undeliverable. Though New York is not a battleground state, one in four mailed-in primary ballots that were returned in New York City were also rejected for errors.

However, early reports about the rejection rate for mailed-in ballots in the general election suggest that it was lower than in 2016 — perhaps a fraction of a percent, up to 30 times lower than absentee ballots in an election without mass vote-by-mail.

No one has yet explained the dramatic improvement, which could be the result of one or more of the following explanations:

Lower standards. Democrats sued in many states — including Pennsylvania –to remove signature, witness, and postmark requirements, and also to extend deadlines. Lowering the standards could result in a far lower rate of ballot rejection.

We’re right now at many tips of this very large iceberg

There are dozens of different ways the Democrat operatives have cheated over the years

will never be able to eliminate all of the fraud and It’s because Democrats themselves are trained to commit pride all of them

If you have 1 million people cheating on just one vote that’s 1 million votes

When you couple this with this crazy software garbage it’s a wonder Republicans have ever won an election

but let’s at least eliminate as many of them as we can

Unfortunately for us Republicans were God-fearing people and we just refuse to cheat -will never gonna do it. It’s just not in our nature

And that’s a good thing

Did you think they would just reject them, after going to all the trouble of forging them?

One would think more errors would be in a general election mail ballot batch, as to be blunt, as more less experienced voters or stupid voters are involved.

What does that have to do with anything? Those aren't rejected ballots.

The rejection rates did not drop everywhere. Comparing rates from places that were not battleground states with states like PA, GA, MI, WI, and NC would provide interesting data.

Most states publish data showing their rejection rates, and historical data for each state and some smaller areas is available from the federal Election Assistance Commission.

Here is an interactive data tool that you can select data on ballot rejections of many different types.

You can get the 2016 or 2018 baseline data directly from the EAC.gov website also.

Absentee voters make mistakes, and about 1% of ballots get rejected due to some kind of error. The idea that first time absentee or mail in ballot voters did not make errors at least as frequently is not likely to be true.

In Nevada they said there is a setting for that and they had it very low. A person from the Trump team said on Saturday.

If 17% of ballots mailed by the election office went to places where the voter wasn't that is a strong indication that the list used to mail out the ballots was not an accurate list of actual registered voters.

As President Trump and others have said repeatedly, changing to what amounts to a vote by mail election without a lot of preparation by the state governments leads to a situation where hundreds of thousands of ballots are just floating around. For every ballot addressed to someone who used to be a voter, and sent to where they used to live that gets returned some fraction don't. And those ballots may well have ended up being submitted by someone else.

That is a simpler explanation for the dead people that have voted than those people resurrecting from the dead to vote.

In Pennsylvania and other states lawsuits were filed to prevent any signature matching. The lawsuits were filed by the usual left wing activist groups like the League of Women Voters.

The standards were dropped in purpose, to accept chicken scratching over a real sig - for dems. Dont tell me they dont want to rob you of your civil rights of fair and free elections.

That TV commercial about boosting your brain to avoid decline due to aging may have sold incredible amounts of the capsules. The voters took them and instantly stopped making the usual 3% or more spoiled ballot mistakes, emerging this one time as perfection unlimited and proud of it. Then went back to ordering DVD rewinders and investing in Nigerian oil wells by giving their banking numbers and passwords over the internet.

Why would this drive down the number of rejected ballots?

I don't think the author is making that claim. He is pointing out several unusual characteristics of the situation.

The only things that drive down the rate of rejection are lowering the standards required for acceptance and either providing assistance to voters or having the mail in or absentee ballot forms be filled in by someone who knows exactly what they are doing.

All of those factors were probably being used, but the last two can be evidence of illegal activity.

Because they reprinted the ones that did not return and filled them out.

You know... one thing that has occurred to me is that, while envelopes and ballots were separated, making it impossible to re-verify signatures, they were supposed to be saved (by law) for 2 years. Someone out to recount the envelopes and the ballots and simply see if there are the same number. Some of those ballots that arrived in boxes late at night may have been produced so hastily (and in support of such obvious fraud) that they didn’t bother to put them in envelopes. It’s just a thought.
