MINNEAPOLIS The stack of Michigan lawsuits filed in the aftermath of the election is continuing to pile up, with a new one in federal court seeking to toss out some 1.2 million votes in Michigan.
The lawsuit was filed by four voters on Wednesday in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Michigan. The litigation seeks to overturn ballots in Washtenaw, Ingham, and Wayne counties. Wayne County has already been the target of a federal lawsuit filed by the Trump campaign one week after the election.
Those three counties combined represent about 1.2 million votes of the states approximately 5.5 million votes cast in this years election. The plaintiffs are Lena Bally and Gavriel Grossbard, both of Oakland County, Carol Hatch of Eaton County, and Steven Butler of Jackson County.
The suit contends that sufficient evidence exists to place in doubt presidential-election results in the counties listed, specifically issues with transparency, fraudulent changing of dates, a software glitch, clerical errors, illegal votes, and many other issues and irregularities.
The document cites dozens of news articles and reports of Republican accusations of fraud in the Michigan election.
The legal relief being sought by the plaintiffs is for the judge to declare that the inclusion of illegal votes in identified counties violates Voters right to vote under the First and Fourteenth Amendment by vote-dilution disenfranchisement and to invalidate them.
If the long shot lawsuit were successful, it would overturn enough votes to flip the election in President Trumps favor.
At least two lawsuits alleging electoral wrongdoing were quickly shot down in state court. Prior to the federal lawsuit, a Trump campaign lawsuit in state court was ruled against the day after it was filed. Another lawsuit from a nonprofit group alleging fraud in Wayne County was also ruled against.

For non-Michiganders: Washtenaw County = Ann Arbor (Southeast Michigan, home of the University of Michigan,) Ingham County = Lansing, Wayne County = Detroit.
The only remedy is to toss the Biden ballots cast in Wayne County.
There might other “remedies” but they likely involve things like pitchforks. Let’s hope the courts are impartial and follow law.
Yes, drown the courts with lawsuits......nearly everyone involved in politics is a lawyer.... make all these lawyers respect the law and due process....drag this out into 2021
But requesting the court invalidate all the ballots from the counties in question will deprive legal voters of their vote. No court is going to grant relief that does that. Assuming the court finds they have standing to sue to begin with.
RE: locations of counties
That’s very helpful, thank you.
shush, don’t spoil the fun. It takes a while for people to work through the 5 stages, and we let kids believe in Santa Claus because it seems harmless enough.
The often problematic standing issue looks pretty good, they have a good legal argument under the rationale from Bush v. Gore, the facts should be there. The big question is the remedy. What can/will a judge so with this? And fast.
Lets hope the courts are impartial and follow law.

The legal system in this country does not inspire much confidence these days. Its anything but impartial.
Dont allow sos to certify a corrupt race and throw it to the voters representatives in the Legislature.
Im still wondering who is crowdfunding Jones Days legal fees. The partners on the case are going to be charging $1000 per hour because that is their rack rate.
The Secretary of State doesn't certify it, the county election canvassers and the State Board of Canvassers do.

“Washtenaw, Ingham, and Wayne counties”
All Peoples’ Republic Counties.
I am in Ionia County where Trump beat Biden 2-1. Huge margin.
Ok don’t let them do if the court determines the election is illegal.
If youre gonna go, go big.
I recall four years ago, Bill Clinton was apparently not too crazy about the recounts as even they began to expose all sorts of inconsistencies that stunk of fraud, particularly in Wayne (Detroit).
