I heard Biden say yesterday that US cannot open up the economy until we have beat the virus. To me that means he’ll throw us back into full lock-downs if positive testing results numbers keep going up. That happens, this country is economically dead. Its a lose-lose: No help for businesses and citizens and we go under, or...print trillions and experience Venezuela-like inflation and we go under.
And exactly how does a federal lockdown or mask mandate survive a constitutional challenge at the Supreme Court? I’m not aware of any federal statute that provides the kind of emergency powers to the feds that many of the state constitutions provide. I would imagine most of the Republican governors would rebel against this quickly.
