SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT
Psalm 23
"The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want" - the crowd would listen attentively. And then, at the conclusion of the Psalm, they would rise in thunderous applause in appreciation of the actor's incredible ability to bring the verse to life. But one night, just before the actor was to offer his customary recital of Psalm 23, a young man from the audience spoke up. "Sir, do you mind if tonight I recite Psalm 23?" The actor was quite taken back by this unusual request, but he allowed the young man to come forward and stand front and center on the stage to recite the Psalm, knowing that the ability of this unskilled youth would be no match for his own talent. With a soft voice, the young man began to recite the words of the Psalm. When he was finished, there was no applause. There was no standing ovation as on other nights. All that could be heard was the sound of weeping. The audience had been so moved by the young man's recitation that every eye was full of tears. Amazed by what he had heard, the actor said to the youth, "I don't understand. I have been performing Psalm 23 for years. I have a lifetime of experience and training - but I have never been able to move an audience as you have tonight. Tell me, what is your secret?" The young man humbly replied, "Well sir, you know the Psalm, but I know the Shepherd."

November 8People Forget
Remember how the Lord your God led you all the way.
Deuteronomy 8:2 A woman complained to her pastor that shed noticed a lot of repetition in his sermons. Why do you do that? she queried. The preacher replied,
People forget.
There are lots of reasons we forgetthe passage of time, growing older, or just being too busy. We forget passwords, names of people, or even where we parked our car. My husband says, Theres only so much I can fit in my brain. I have to delete something before I can remember something new.
The preacher was right. People forget. So we often need reminders to help us remember what God has done for us. The Israelites had a similar tendency. Even with the many miracles theyd seen, they still needed to be reminded of His care for them. In Deuteronomy 8, God reminded the Israelites that Hed allowed them to experience hunger in the wilderness, but then provided an amazing superfood for them every daymanna. He supplied clothing that never wore out. He led them through a wilderness of snakes and scorpions and provided water from a rock. Theyd learned humility, as they realized how totally dependent they were on Gods care and provision (vv. 24, 1518).
Gods faithfulness continues through all generations (Psalm 100:5). Whenever we find ourselves forgetting, we can think about the ways Hes answered our prayers, and that reminds us of His goodness and faithful promises.

Reflect & Pray
In what areas do you struggle to trust God? What Bible verses help you to remember how much He cares for you?
Dear Father, thank You for always being faithful. Help me to trust You in whatever I face today.

To: All
Dear God: I ask that no Airman, Coast Guardsman, Marine, Sailor, Soldier, Reservist, National Guardsman, or Merchant Marine feel alone or forgotten.
O Israel, hope in the Lord; For with the Lord there is loving kindness, And with Him is abundant redemption. And He will redeem Israel From all his iniquities.
Psalm 130:7 & 8

Good evening, ML...((HUGS))...and a Blessed Lord’s Day and Shavua Tov to you and yours.
Is Blue ready to go to her winter quarters?
It’s snowing here and expected to continue through tomorrow. Winter advisories are in effect just north of here! It’s nice to sit inside and not have to go out with the crazy people. I can just enjoy watching the snow.

He Who blessed our forefathers Abraham, Isaac and Jacob - may He bless the fighters of the Israel Defense Force, who stand guard over our land and the cities of our G-d from the border of the Lebanon to the desert of Egypt, and from the Great Sea unto the approach of the Aravah, on the land, in the air, and on the sea.
May HASHEM cause the enemies who rise up against us to be struck down before them. May the Holy One, Blessed is He, preserve and rescue our fighting men from every trouble and distress and from every plague and illness, and may He send blessing and success in their every endeavor.
May He lead our enemies under their sway and may He grant them salvation and crown them with victory. And may there be fulfilled for them the verse: For it is Hashem, your G-d, Who goes with you to battle your enemies for you to save you.
G-d bless and keep your children safe, Alouette.
