Almost 48 hours after polls closed in Pennsylvania, the Associated Press named GOP Incumbent Scott Perry the winner of the hotly contested and pricey race against Democrat Eugene DePasquale in Pennsylvania's 10th Congressional District.

With more than 89% of precincts reporting Thursday night, Perry had over 53% of the votes, DePasquale had just over 46%.

General Perry is my congresscritter. A good chunk of his the 10th district is in Dauphin County, including the City of Harrisburg. Dauphin County went for Biden, mainly due to the vote in Harrisburg. Or is it the case that Dauphin County went for Biden because of fraud? How do they elect a Freedom Caucus member and elect Biden at the same time. Something is fishy here. It is not what I saw on the ground in Dauphin County. There was huge Trump support and no enthusiasm for Biden. General Perry's election results prove this. This was supposed to be a tight race. 538 and CNN were calling for a flip. That did not happen. Polling is Bull Schiff. Votes after November 3rd in PA are Bull Schiff.

Scott Perry is a Patriot 1st class.

DePasquale didn’t give a RAT’s rump about Congress, he just saw this as a better stepping stone for his bid for Governor.

Come January he’s out of a government job and will need to earn a semi-honest living.

Hope the same thing happens to Shylock Shapirpo.

You’re comparing apples to oranges here. Dauphin County went for Biden, but it encompasses less than half the land area of the 10th District. Perry won on the strength of his support in Cumberland and York Counties.

When you use a name like “Shylock Shapirpo”, you are conveying less information than you may think. Plus, it reminds me of Junior High where the kids around me liked to skew names for fun.

At this point, I have no idea who you are talking about and, given the mangling of the name, I would probably be unable to find out through searching.

Isn’t that just peachy?

Don’t look at the land area - look at population density. There is a big difference. This district was made by the courts so that it would be a Democrat district. That failed.

I have no idea who you are talking about

This is local talk. Shapiro is the AG of PA and has been at the center of voter fraud in the Commonwealth. He is a Marxist.

A 7% win is not "hotly contested", it is a solid win for Perry.

A Democrat district? That doesn’t make any sense. The district is R+6 in its voter registration.

The 10th is the gerrymander remnant of the pre-redistricting 4th District, which was previously the 19th District until PA lost one seat after the previous census.

The 19th historically was all of York and Adams Counties where the GOP holds a 2:1 registration lead. Little by litte more and more parts of Cumberland County were added in attempts to turn the district blue. When the City of Harrisburg was added the RAT power grab became obvious.

Now the 10th has two deep blue cites (Harrisburg and York) mitigated by some deep red areas (Adams County and northern York County).

I’m not saying you’re wrong ... but how do you create a “Democrat district” with a GOP lead in voter registration?

Harrisburg may be the PA capital, but with only 50,000 residents it’s actually smaller than some of Philadelphia’s suburban towns. The city is surrounded by a lot of suburban and rural areas that are hardly left-leaning.

District went from deep red to magenta...blueness is increasing.

Probably true. It’s confusing because Perry used to represent the 4th District, and now it’s the 10th.

You are better at this than me, but you are missing a step between the 19th district and the 10th when it ran all up the way to Hazelton when Mayor Lou was the rep. I lived in Mechanicsburg (Hampden Twp ) then. I think Todd Platts was the last rep. from the 19th and in his last election they redistricted the 19th to include part of Harrisburg or most of the city. Then that became part of the 10th and remains. The 10th runs to the Hummelstown border, where the Red part of Dauphin County picks up. I’m right on the edge of that. The north end of the district is pure red going up to Halifax. I can’t get my head around the high turn out of Harrisburg city compared to the rest of Dauphin County.

Correct...the 10th ends in York Township (second tier south of York City) which is outrageously gerrymandered precinct by precinct.

Rest of southern York County was added to the 11th. Lloyd Smucker is great, but I miss having Scott Perry. I’m close enough to the boundary that I put up signs for both of them.

Oh, I thought you were in the 10th. The old 19th made more sense except that you folks in York County dominated the district and would never give Charlie Gerow a fair shake. (Sort of kidding, Charlie lived across the street from me.)

Charlie is great.

Todd Platts was totally awesome; literally the last man standing in Congress who refused any and all PAC money.

When he first entered politics in the (then) newly created PA 196th District his team placed “thank you” stickers on every yard sign on election night.

A class act all the way, and now serving honorably on the York County bench.
