MONTERREY, Mexico - In a makeshift refugee camp just across the border from Brownsville, Texas, Oscar Borjas and a few friends are planning to gather on Tuesday night to watch anxiously as results from the U.S. presidential election roll in.
Borjas, a Honduran asylum seeker who has spent the last year living in a cold and unsanitary encampment in Matamoros, Mexico, is not a U.S. voter.
He is among the tens of thousands of migrants whose lives have been upended by the Trump administrations immigration policies and who are now praying for Republican President Donald Trumps Democratic challenger, Joe Biden, to win the election.
Were all hoping for Biden, he said.
From Tijuana to Matamoros, asylum seekers stranded along the border by the Trump administrations Remain in Mexico policy are holding their breath as Americans head to the polls. Over a dozen interviewed by Reuters say they believe a Biden victory would offer them a better chance of escaping dangerous Mexican border towns and entering the United States while pursuing their asylum cases.
Im here praying. Im not religious but Im still praying that Trumps forced out, said Yuri Gonzalez, a Cuban asylum seeker who has spent more than a year and a half stranded in Ciudad Juarez, across the border from El Paso, Texas, as he waits for his asylum claim to be processed by U.S. courts.

Biden will open the American goody bag of welfare benefits to the entire third world.
The usual propaganda from Reuters?
What’s new?
Chuckle.
This is going to be our regular fare. Decide how much you want to read of it.
Welfare for everybody!
The left will never realize that every single one of their ideological issues goes against basic nature and human nature.
Asylum seekers my ... They’re here for the freebies.
Borjas needs to go to his home country.
Thought I recognized the signage.
CANSWER. /eyeroll
I’m praying to the Real God for a Trump win. I’m not worried.
Dont worry about it, asylum seekers is just the new name for ISIS.
Everyone on earth (and beyond) has an absolute right to U.S. citizenship. It right there in the Constitution of the Universe.
Should we toss our black lives matter shirts & signs back into the closet until further notice?
If Biden wins this country will become exactly like what they left. Have you seen the Venezuela people eating out of trash cans? It only took them a decade to totally dissolve to this. It will take us less because we will get millions pouring into our country and ruining healthcare for all. If you are elderly and need a bypass. Too bad. You are too old and it costs too much-just die. You dems who voted for this should be the first to go. Soon other countries will develope Am style hospitals and be manned by Americans. I will move there. You fools live here.
How many times have they voted?
Been through Central America and know what hell looks like.
When Chavez won and started implementing his programs, I said then that TPTB were watching Venezuela to see how far down the rabbit hole the socialists could take an industrialized country with great resources and a fairly modern system. They did so to see how this country would progress when they took power.
It was only a matter of time. The big unknown is this: how long will It take for citizens who do not agree, to react.
That reaction will also hinge on organization, leaders, underground information, and networking, all things we do not have in mass right now, but if the situation becomes untenable will become a reality in the near future.
Lots of things to think about. Regardless of being tagged, numbered, followed, and blacklisted, things will get interesting at some juncture.
Trump had his chance. Hope he learns the meaning of compassion
in the real world that comes at the end, which is very poignant.

If Biden steals the election, I hope Trump will deport a few million illegals over the next two months. I’d like to deport them all. No exceptions. But I’ll settle for what we can get.
Ask Kate Steinle’s family how wonderful it is for open borders.
