A missing thumb drive for a ballot scanner forced the Lancaster County elections office to recount more than 21,000 in-person absentee ballots late Tuesday night, leaving the results of local races in question at presstime. The recounted ballots represent 42% of the county’s vote total in the election, so they could affect the results of almost every race. Rick Crimminger, chairman of the Lancaster County Election Commission, said no one is sure what happened to the thumb drive.

When will we ever learn. Civil war is brewing, they just don't know it yet.
So the way these work is the thumb drive is worthless without the master pc AND the encryption keys. I’d guess these machines had too many red votes so they pulled the thumb stick to disable them from being counted.
See my post I have experience with these machines. The thumb drive is for transporting the voting ballots/measures from the master programming PC (which is standalone not on any network) to the tabulator for activation. These thumb drives are proprietary and encrypted and are worthless on their own.
Better question is how does a voting machine support a thumb drive?

Here is what is happening. Its called sabotage. Many of these places have hardened Democrats doing these counts. Do you think a water pipe just happens to burst or a thumb drive just disappears? Nah its dirty tricks. They stopped the votes because had they continued President Trump would’ve been declared the victor.
THAT IS THEIR GAME PLAN EVERY ELECTION. If you cannot win fairly, yell voter fraud, cheat, lie, steal, whine, kick, scream foul, demand recount, look for more lost ballots found in the janitor’s closet of some subway station in Des Moines, Iowa, and CLAIM THE REPUBLICANS CHEATED AND WOULD NOT ALLOW BLACKS TO COME VOTE!!! Yup, that is their plan. EVERY election.
