In the United States which, unlike many other countries, does not have a national electoral commission the role of calling the winners of presidential elections falls to the news media. Heres how it will work:
Each TV network makes its own state-by-state determinations. ABC, CBS, CNN and NBC, as part of the group of news organizations belonging to the National Election Pool, base their calls on data gathered by Edison Research. The Associated Press, which has assigned 4,000 reporters to collect information from county clerks in 50 states, conducts its own count. Fox News, starting in 2018, has relied on a model that draws from data provided by The A.P.
Major news organizations, including NPR, PBS and the newspaper chains Gannett and McClatchy, wait for The A.P. to call races before they report results. Other outlets, including The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal and The Washington Post, use data from The A.P. to help them make their own determinations. Reuters will deliver results in collaboration with the National Election Pool.

The article is behind a firewall.
What does it say?
Don’t pay attention to ANY major news, only pay attention to DJT once he announces on on-major media early this evening.
Yes, the electoral college. (Not the self impotent (and important) media)

“What happens after the general election?
After the general election, your Governor prepares a Certificate of Ascertainment listing the names of all the individuals on the slates for each candidate. The Certificate of Ascertainment also lists the number of votes each individual received and shows which individuals were appointed as your State’s electors. Your States Certificate of Ascertainment is sent to NARA as part of the official records of the Presidential election.
The meeting of the electors takes place on the first Monday after the second Wednesday in December after the general election. The electors meet in their respective States, where they cast their votes for President and Vice President on separate ballots. Your States electors votes are recorded on a Certificate of Vote, which is prepared at the meeting by the electors. Your States Certificate of Vote is sent to Congress, where the votes are counted, and NARA, as part of the official records of the Presidential election.
Each States electoral votes are counted in a joint session of Congress on the 6th of January in the year following the meeting of the electors. Members of the House and Senate meet in the House Chamber to conduct the official count of electoral votes. The Vice President, as President of the Senate, presides over the count and announces the results of the vote. The President of the Senate then declares which persons, if any, have been elected President and Vice President of the United States.”
“”””The judge, Emmet G. Sullivan of the District of Columbia, ordered the sweep to begin before 3 p.m. to ensure that no ballots have been held up and that any identified ballots are immediately sent out for delivery. He said he was particularly concerned about ballot delivery in districts where there has been slow processing of ballots for days, including Central Pennsylvania, Philadelphia and Detroit.”””
When will this proverbial ‘snake in a woodpile’ decide that retirement is more important than being on the Ten Most A$$holes list.
With nearly 200 early vote ballots counted, CNN can declare Biden as the winner.
No question they will try to pull something stupid.
Well, the last paragraph is about the Supreme Court possibly revisiting the case for and against allowing ballots received after election day. I guess that’s it.
This is actually a good thing. Now it will be much harder to “find” ballots or allow ballots with no post mark. Since the post office has looked high and low for last minute ballots, any found tomorrow must be assumed to be too late.
“Subscribe for $1/ week, ends soon.”
I certainly hope so. I’ve been waiting a long time already...
Well, I’ll be a ......., I never knew it was the job of the media. Where is it in Constitution??
“””The Postal Service reported it had discovered 180,000 pieces of delayed mail in Miami-Dade County in Florida, including more than 40 ballots, after a video taken inside a post office in disarray in the city of Homestead went viral of Friday. However, it said all but one of those ballots had now been delivered to elections officials.”””
Here is the end of the story. What is the big deal?
They have planned this all along. The media declares the winner and we have to accept.
Explains everything.
Just wait til Pres Trump hears about this!!!!
Once "The Narrative" is set it will be difficult to convince many voters who really won.
Dumbed-down Americans will believe what the media tells them to believe.
Which State reports first(i.e. last).
So the role of declaring the winner falls to Mike Pence.
It is likely that any ballot that comes in after the election, without a postmark, has not been sent through the mail, where it would be postmarked. All I care is that they segregate the ballots for later court cases. None of this oops, a worker carrying the ballots tripped and they ccidentally got mixed in with the real votes.
I had the same thought. Last i heard, it was the secretary of state for each state that declared the winner in that state by certifying the results. Then the electoral college does its duty. I’m astonished that the media has any part in this at all. Its not what i was taught.
I’d be interested in learning how many people read this article and actually believe it as the facts.
