GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) There have been reports of technical issues at some West Michigan polling places Tuesday morning.
The chairwoman of Ward 2 Precinct 41 at North Park Elementary in Grand Rapids said the tabulator is down but the city is working to resolve the issue. While the machine is down, all ballots will be held in an auxiliary bin and will be counted after its fixed.
Grand Rapids City Clerk Joel Hondorp noted if your ballot is cast into an auxiliary bin, you can not change it later or correct mistakes.
Polling officials at Ward 3 Precinct 75, located at Adams Park Apartments in Grand Rapids said election workers trained to use the electronic pollbook didnt show up Tuesday morning. Other poll workers had to manually enter voter information and those ballots will be tabulated electronically later in the day.
In northeast Kent County, the Oakfield Township clerk told News 8 their electronic pollbooks were down briefly Tuesday morning. Voters were able to cast their ballots, but those ballots must be counted separately. The hardware issue has since been resolved.
When polls opened Tuesday morning, some West Michigan polling places saw dozens of people in line to vote in the 2020 election.
More than 60 people were lined up outside the St. Pauls Anglican Church on Grand Rapids West Side shortly after polls opened at 7 a.m.
Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson warned about misinformation being shared in Flint in an attempt to confuse voters. Anyone who sees election misinformation can report it to the state at misinformation@michigan.gov.
We received reports that an unknown party is purposefully spreading misinformation via robocalls in Flint in an attempt to confuse voters there, and I want to ensure everyone who plans to vote in person understands they must do so or be in line to do so by 8 p.m. today. Lines in the area and across the state are minimal and moving quickly, and Michigan voters can feel confident that leaders across state and local government are vigilant against these kinds of attacks on their voting rights and attempts at voter suppression, and we will be working quickly all day to stamp out any misinformation aimed at preventing people from exercising their right to vote. In-person polls close at 8 p.m. You dont need to show photo identification to vote, but it does speed up the process, so the Secretary of State advises you to bring your ID. You are strongly urged, but not strictly required, to wear a mask at the polls.
We are highly recommending that everybody wears a mask. You wont be turned away for not wearing a mask because there are certain people who for certain reasons cant. We arent just going to disenfranchise someone just because they dont wear a mask, Hondorp told News 8. But keep yourself six feet apart from each other and make sure we have a good community feel when we go to the precincts.
Shortly after polls opened, a News 8 crew saw most voters outside LaGrave Avenue Christian Reformed Church in downtown Grand Rapids wearing masks and social distancing.
Before Election Day, more than 3.1 million people voted absentee in Michigan.
If you still have to return your absentee ballot, drop it off in person at your clerks office or a dropbox within your jurisdiction before polls close. Election workers will collect ballots from boxes for the last time at 8 p.m. Do not put your ballot in the mail its too late for that because it must be back to the clerks office today. A Nov. 3 postmark is not good enough to get it counted.
On Monday, Benson said its possible that Michigan could see more than 5 million total votes and could break records. With so many votes expected, Benson says it could be Friday before everything is tallied.

That’s been going on for a while when they started saying Biden was mentally capable of doing the job. Perhaps that should be reported?

Anyone who still supports the Democrats has a criminal heart.
The tabulator was down because it was overwhelmed by republican ballots?
Here we go.
Tabulator was down here too and I’m in Pittsburgh.
It happens every election.
The only shocker are people that seriously think that in 240 years that every voting precinct has gone with zero hitches.
I can only imagine the problems they had with those massive mechanical machines in the 40s and 50s.
The people not showing up should be subject to a 1000 fine for Federal fraud unless they are literally in the hospital or have a darn good excuse.
GR has a lot of voting locations, so a couple of hiccups is not terribly bad.
>Here we go.
This is seriously not a big deal.
Adams Park Apartments is not exactly located in some conservative part of town anyway.
I don't know about you, but that right there is a HUGE red flag.
Thought everyone knew to vote early to avoid this.
