The event scheduled for Tuesday night at his Trump International Hotel was billed as THE Trump campaign's celebration of winning 4 more years in the White House, and POTUS would be in attendance. An email invite to the bash screamed, "It will be absolutely EPIC, and the only thing that could make it better is having YOU there." Very Trump-esque.
However, the Prez is now opting to watch the poll results pour in from the White House ... according to the New York Times.

Trump needs to work that night. He will have to mobilize the National Guard, 101st, 82nd and 10th divisions.
It was great fun sitting with the swells but a long night as it wasn't called until 3AM.
I would be down in WPB. No rioting there
Times have changed, we didn't have Antifa and Soros planning massive riots.
Could you expound on what Eric Trump said about it on Fox and Friends? Thanks!~
If things are hot in DC (Mayor Bowser doing nothing), then it is a short helicopter hop to Camp David or to Andrews Air Force Base in MD.
At least evacuate Melania and Baron. Trump will probably insist on holding his ground.
Exactly.. First thought was.. Security concerns. .
PDJT probably moved the event to be considerate to all the homeless people the mayor has living in Freedom Plaza and Lafeyette Park.
he just said basically nothing, just that that seems to be the new plan
Biden not having a party either...
He and the family will be safer holed-up in the White House than in a hotel. Who knows what Mattis, Brennan, Clapper, etc., have in mind?
Now that doesn't surprise me :)
{I smell.....VICTORY!}
Praying you’re instincts are on target.
Just hope that POTUS has Veep Pence by his side and Mike gets to savor every triumphant state call as PDJT hits him on the arm to the point of almost knocking him down.
Hope you’ve heard Pence recount that experience at campaign HQ in 2016.
Biden not having a party either...
My thoughts exactly. It won’t be safe with all the rioting going on.
Particularly in DC, but in ever major city, they should be watching very closely efforts to house out of town-ers, as well as any sort of strategic staging efforts. This needs to be watched like you would be watching enemy movements in a potential theater of war. Civil liberties need not be infringed. This is about intelligence on the ground IE transportation, lodging, etc, not about individual privacy
Good move.
So what is new. These anti American thugs did the same thing 4 years ago:

The post-election backlash against democratically chosen President-elect Donald Trump continued over the weekend, with rioters shutting down streets in cities across the country, while demonstrators mourned the Trump victory in public events at college campuses, high schools, and in at least one elementary school in Manhattan.
One 7-year-old child who voted Trump in a school mock election was thrown out of his house by his irate mother.
In Portland, Oregon, riots again shut down parts of the city on Saturday, with demonstrators shutting down several streets. The Portland Police Department reported that the rioters targeted police with road flares and in several cases, assaulted civilians. [ ]
In Washington D.C., roughly 150 people protested outside of the newly opened Trump Hotel in the capital. One participant at the event targeted the soon-to-be First Lady Melania Trump, holding up an unprecedented sign reading Rape Melania. It is not known if police removed the sign.
