Which of the two voted to impeach him? How many conservative judges will we get on the Supreme Court when Schumer is majority leader. A vote for ANY democrat senator candidate is a vote for packing the court and a vote to make DC and Puerto Rico a state and the addition of 4 socialist senators.

The time to take out a senator you don’t like is in the primary. In the general you suck it up and vote for anyone who is not going to destroy the country.

I despise Collins and don’t like Lindsey either, but they are needed now because the alternative is totally unacceptable.

Mitch gave Collins a freebie on Barrett because he knew he had the votes. She's in a very tough fight.

She stood tall for Kavanaugh under tremendous pressure not to.

Her support was pathetic. She damned him with faint praise. She did not condemn his accusers. She just said they didn’t prove their case beyond a reasonable doubt. She’s pathetic.

Maine has ranked choice voting. I’ve heard it explained a few times and still don’t get it but am fairly sure it was enacted to help the left. Could affect presidential race also.

Rank Choice voting allows you to make 2nd, 3rd, 4th choices on the same ballot. You do not have to rank your candidates. If any candidate gets over 50%, ranking does not matter. What ranking does is gets the candidate to a theoretical 50%. It could be a factor in the Collins/Gideon race as the Green will get about 5%.

Although the presidential race is rank choice, it won’t be a factor in Maine this year as none of the third party candidates are going to get more the a couple hundred votes. Either Trump or Biden will win outright in each congressional district taking one vote for that and outright statewide taking two votes for that. So in Maine, we will have three vote tallies to follow although in 2016 the southern district was such a blowout for Hillary that it dictated the statewide result. I think it may be a repeat this year as voting in our largest city pre-election voting day has towered over previous cycles. I will be working at the polls and expect a very quiet day.

Looks like Collins is going to pull it off.

I just hope Susan Collins will win. She 8s a typical Maine Republican - moderate with a tinge of Conservative. Gideon is to the left of Bernie.

Democrats have no need to pack the court with Roberts and one of Kavanaugh/Gorsuch voting for them on the big cases.

The establishment has no problem taking out a GOP candidate they don’t like in the general. Most famously POTUS in 2016 and when they campaigned for the progressive Democrat in Alabama with Obamacare repeal in the balance. We know what happened there.

Why are we holding the GOP voters to a standard the GOP establishment does not hold itself to? What’s good for the goose and all that.

Collins got permission to vote NO when Murkowski announced she was a yes. The NO vote took the wind out of Gidron’s sails and helps her. Does anyone know the MoE on this poll? It has to be at least 2.5% MoE which mean Collins could actually be ahead. I just sent her a donation- anybody else?

Mcconnell saved Scalia’s seat, by simply saying they would not have a vote to replace. That is the power of the ML. Collins voted for McConnel for ML. If she never votes with us other than giving us a republican majority leader, she is worth it. That fact is not open to debate, like it or not.

Um, no.
She said the accusations were “outlandish”. She totally ridiculed the ridiculous accusations.

This is why we never are United. For all their faults, the Dems (moderate and Liberals) do unite, we don’t. Sue Collins is the best we can get in New England. New England’s Republican Parties are different from Florida and Alabama Republican Parties.

Because without that America becomes a socialist country. If you are not aware of that then you fooling yourself. This is not the 1990’s when your argument would make sense.

Here you are. She felt Blakey Ford’s testimony was compelling:

Mr. President, I listened carefully to Christine Blasey Ford’s testimony before the Judiciary Committee. I found her testimony to be sincere, painful, and compelling. I believe that she is a survivor of a sexual assault and that this trauma has upended her life.

Nevertheless, the four witnesses she named could not corroborate any of the events of that evening gathering where she says the assault occurred. None of the individuals Prof. Ford says were at the party has any recollection at all of that night. Judge Kavanaugh forcefully denied the allegations under penalty of perjury. Mark Judge denied under penalty of felony that he had witnessed an assault. P.J. Smith, another person allegedly at the party, denied that he was there under penalty of felony. Professor Ford’s lifelong friend, Leland Kaiser, indicated that under penalty of felony she does not remember that party. And Ms. Kaiser went further. She indicated that not only does she not remember a night like that, but also that she does not even know Brett Kavanaugh.

What a pathetic POS. She only voted for him because of the Presumption of Innocence, not because she didn’t believe that lying SOS. She did believe her. She’s a complete idiot. AOC has a higher IQ.

I spent the 1990’s in California. California is now a one party Democrat state precisely due to policies supported by the GOP.

I guess my main beef is that we don’t owe the GOP anything. Votes especially. They owe us. They are supposed to represent us. WE elected POTUS. The GOP has done little but invalidate his election and disenfranchise us these past 4 years via their support of the ongoing coup.

The bipartisan veneer given to Mueller coup by the GOP Senate was key in getting it launched. We would be a very different place had the GOP supported POTUS firing Mueller after he hired Hillary and Obama Democrat lawyers. But they did not and here we are.

And make no mistake Sarah Gideon is a hard core leftist who appears to be a moderate.

Very few Democrats are not leftist whack jobs these days

John Bel Edwards

Steve Sweeney, state senate president in NJ, this man is an old school union leader and is Gov. Murphy’s biggest thorn in his back side. Sweeney made a statement that he liked Gov Christie better because they could get along and come to agreement on most items like pension reform, taxes, etc. If this guy was pro 2A he would be a Republican.

Those are the only two non kook democrats I can think of. All the others are pretty much wack jobs

Lindsey Graham was the one out there pushing Mueller as being legitimate and threatening the POTUS if he dared laid a finger on him.

I agree, we could be light years ahead if we had representatives that worked with POTUS from day one instead of trying to get him out of office. Just think what we could do if Paul Rino wasn’t a giant turd in the punch bowel. Glad he and his pals are gone now. That was the reason we lost the house in 2018, had nothing to do with Trump

The senate on the other hand, we needed to that in the Primaries, we should take out Murcowface, seriously, she is from a solid red state put acts like she is the “Republican” senator from New York.

Just heard an elderly vet on Boston conservative radio begging people to vote for Collins. He said she has done many important things for veterans.

Do not let the perfect be the enemy of the good.
