Like one judge can arbitrarily rule by themselves? There’s eight other judges there or don’t these idiots know that?

"In the founders’ day, muskets WERE the preeminent “assault weapon”."

I have firing replicas of both the Long Land Pattern Musket (aka "Brown Bess"), which was the standard issue weapon of the British Army as well as used by a good number of colonists, and a Pennsylvania rifle, which any number of revolutionary colonists employed. The fact that these were the pre-eminent long arms at the time the Constitution was written, leads me to believe that our founders made no differentiation whatsoever between, "military," and, "civilian," weapons.

The Brown Bess, as a smoothbore is less accurate, but its higher rate of fire lends well to sustained volley fires in line formations. It was the, "assault rifle," of its day.

The Pennsylvania Rifle is significantly more accurate at longer ranges and was the de facto sniper rifle of the day. Our founders were content to leave both in the hands of the citizenry.

Having read through her only major writing on the 2nd amendment as a dissent in a case before her, I sincerely hope she gets to someday soon write a majority opinion on the subject.

Gotta be lucky.
I was just at a local Farm/Fleet type store to get oil for a couple of tractors last week and as I was walking down the isle I glanced down the sporting goods isle and I saw an employee messing around near the ammo shelf. I walked down and he was putting some 9mm Winchester Silvertip up.
I told him I'd take them. There were 4 boxes and he asked, sort of put out, if I wanted them all (store has a limit policy but 4 boxes is OK).
They were 20 round boxes and the price was their regular, nonpanic price-IIRC correctly about $11.00 per box.
While I had been talking to him another guy showed up and was waiting to see what I was going to do.
I just took 2 and the other guy thanked me and took the other 2.
The stuff is out there, but just like the last shortage, you have to be there at the right time.

I always laugh at the left when they explain that the 2nd amendment doesn’t include certain weapons because those weapons weren’t in existence when the framers worded the Constitution. Well, the internet didn’t exist when the framers wrote the 1st amendment!!!!! But, that logic goes over the lefties heads.

Do these people know that a case has to come before the Supreme Court in order for any of the justices to reach a decision regarding the issue? They just don’t go to the legislatures and change the laws willy nilly.

Cannons and ammo were sold by U.S. govt from 1790 to even after the civil war to the public, advertised in NYCity & Phila. Newspapers.

“Looking at the intent of the framers when there were no assault weapons is very inappropriate in an age of mass shootings.”

The author of this article is an idiot. The Flintlock rifles of the 1700’s were the “Assault Rifles” of their day.

Its really amazing that the Rats are trying to force us to carry weapons as effective as flintlock rifles. They can kill but very slowly. That’s what the rats want.

They would prefer the People were defenseless.

People were killing each other long before guns existed. And people kill each other today without guns too.

You cannot solve “gun violence” simply by removing guns from the occasion. But I’m sure you already know that.

Gun purchases spiked 67 percent this September over a year ago, a trend accelerated by the pandemic and largely unfounded fears about guns being confiscated and gun stores shut down should Democrats gain power. According to the report by the gun safety groups, the FBI in July of 2020 conducted more than 3.6 million firearm background checks, the third highest month since the inception of such checks in 1998.

Couldn't have anything to do with the BLM/ANTIFA rioting, could it?

Barrett is an originalist who believes the Constitution must be interpreted exactly as the Founders intended. “Her views and how she thinks about the Second Amendment are not grounded in modern day reality,” Parsons told the Daily Beast.

Ms. Parsons is typical of all lefty hacks in her use of the neglected aspect to advance her effort to misrepresent the Founders' intentions. They certainly did envision "modern day reality". Their foresight is enshrined in Article Five of the US Constitution. Parsons is a termite...

I hope so. This has been the single biggest issue for me for years. Now we finally have a Supreme Court that looks like it will stop the infringements on Americans’ constitutional rights. Hallelujah!
