Some of America’s largest residential landlords have moved to boot thousands of tenants from their homes during the coronavirus pandemic despite federal eviction protections, a new report says.

Big corporate landlords have filed nearly 10,000 eviction actions in courts across five states even though the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has barred them from kicking out many tenants who can’t pay rent because of the COVID-19 crisis, NBC News reported Monday.

A lot of the big REITs like Blackstone bought up thousands of houses and apartment buildings after the 2008 collapse. You might be able to negotiate with a single owner about his retirement investment property - but these guys play rough.

Just how many years did these fools think landlords should
be required to provide free housing?

I don’t like it, but at some point the landlords have to
meet their financial obligations too.

Who knew?

Our landlord raised our rent just after the bans hit. He is a jerk, though, so not unexpected.

This smells like Barbra Streisand to me. 10,000 evictions? Show me the numbers from last year and the year before.

And that is the unfortunate truth.
Another truth is that Democrats are doing this on purpose to cause a collapse.....but you knew that.

Yes I agree.

They say, big landlords are evil.

They also say the government owning everything, now that’s
okay.

Do these people ever think things out? Ah no...

They’ve been taught to believe these things. They seem
to have sworn an oath to believing them.

Might be six months worth of evictions.

Happily all of mine are paying. Not always on time but that is only one of them. The other four are paying on time.

Yup!
I know of a couple that are on disability and welfare. As soon as the eviction ban hit, they stopped paying rent even though they still had the same income. They were shocked to hear they'd be evicted. Not to worry! Welfare is bailing them out. Meanwhile their landlord is in deep financial do-do from the several idiots that stopped paying.

I try to think if we do the same thing. Rush, for instance,
tells us a lot of thing. He doesn’t tell us what to think,
and he doesn’t tell us not to listen to the Left. He does
tell us not to believe them and explains why.

I held my views long before Rush. I develop my own view
without Rush. I like to hear him echo it.

These kids are clearly being indoctrinated at school. They
don’t have the ability to learn the facts, then think things
out for themselves.

They are hit upon from k (-12th) on. Their grades depend
on their reaction to the propaganda.

That is clearly beyond child abuse into Manchurian
Candidate level mind control.

As many area have ‘judicial’ eviction laws, they have to start early to be able to execute the eviction. Further, the federal restriction only applies to properties under HUD lending, not conventional non-HUD, non-VA loans.
