COBB COUNTY, Ga — The latest Borat film called, “Borat Subsequent Movie Film”, began streaming this past Friday on Amazon Prime, and the daughter of a late Holocaust survivor whose likeness is featured in the film is suing.
Michelle Dim St. Pierre claimed in the lawsuit that the producers duped her mother, tricking her into thinking that she was being interviewed for a Holocaust documentary.
Judith Dim Evans, 87, a Holocaust survivor who immigrated to Israel, fought for independence before moving her family to the United States, according to St. Pierre.
“My mother is a person that would never be participating in this and would never play the game if she would know what it was about. She was an incredible woman and very intelligent," St. Pierre said. “But this is bigger than my mom. I do think I’m fighting here not only for my mom, but for the entire Jewish community, particularly the Holocaust survivors.”
Channel 2′s Michael Seiden spoke with St. Pierre, who said they paid for Evans to travel to Temple Kol Emeth in East Cobb for the interview. Her mom said she had a bad feeling about the interview. “She told me what happened, and I tried to convince her that I’m sure everything’s okay,” St Pierre explained. “I told her I don’t believe anyone in the world would put the Holocaust and comedy together. It’s unheard of."
So they faked the poor woman’s signature on the releases? Yeah, sue ‘em into oblivion.

Cohen is a scumbag. Tricking people, especially vulnerable ones, by relying on their good nature and trust is just vile. Hope they get some $$$. And hope he eventually fools the wrong person and gets cement shoes.
Cohen has a genius for tricking people, and no scruples against even tricking an elderly Holocaust survivor. But there’s one person who saw through his act 7 minutes into the interview and walked out:
Donald Trump.

Maybe I'm just getting old, but for this movie I didn't laugh, not once. The feel was very much of someone cashing in on a joke that was funny decades back (a bit like Woodward/Bernstein)
What did come through loud and clear was the underlying goodness and kindness of his victims, including Rudy. They were endlessly polite and understanding.
So, in the end, this was just an exercise in cruelty, not comedy.

Film Director Mel Brooks has used that time period for history too. Once you’ve heard it, you cannot forget the song
“Springtime for Hitler in Germany”. That dance skit was so over the top, so outrageous, that I had to laugh.
That being said, Borat was wrong to deceive this old lady.
She thought she was participating in something noble, not something silly.

I'm not sure how anybody could take that character seriously...but then Giuliani fell for the hot girl reporter trick when he of all people should have known better.
Cohen's routine would be a lot funnier if it was politically even-handed. Arrogant collectivists and media figures would be even easier to fool into embarrassing themselves than conservatives, but Cohen doesn't want to go there.
But he had better watch his back - Nursultan Nazarbayev must be ready to put a contract out on him now that the film is out.
And yet in spite of the fraud “Borat” purpurates, he goes on while the undercover journalists who recorded interviews with Planned Parenthood and others are prosecuted beyond the full extent of the law.
