I keep hearing politicians referring to man-made-induced climate change is settled science. After all, Governor Gavin Newsom recently issued an executive order to stop selling fossil-fueled vehicles starting in 2050. I searched the Internet looking for Governor Newsoms scientific credentials but failed to find them. He probably got them from the same place his predecessor did, Jerry Brown. Affectionately know as Governor Moonbeam, Brown signed legislation in September 2018 that will force California to use 50%, then 60%, then 100% renewable energy by the years, 2026, 2030, and 2045, respectively. Hydropower and nuclear power are not to be included in the mix. Currently, about 43% of electrical power generated in California is by natural gas combustion turbine generators.
As a former project director of multi-billion dollar industrial projects on multiple continents I attest to the fact that it takes at least 10 years minimum from inception to start-up of a large industrial project. How many new electric power generation projects are in the queue? Check the California Energy Commission website for a clue. I have a hard time trying to discern where the projects that need to be built are even applying for a permit/license to operate.
When you want more information about where California gets its electric power go here or look at the table below for the year 2019 data:

I will be the first to admit that I was a skeptic about anthropogenic global warming (AGW). Then I remembered the hoopla about refrigerant fluids dastardly effect on ozone allegedly causing an ozone hole in the southern hemisphere. World nations agreed that chlorofluorocarbons (a.k.a.,

Command and control, same as masks.
Democrats must have stock in companies that make candles. Because they’ll make light bulbs so expensive to use that the poor will use candles.
I always wondered why Hydro-electric isn’t considered a renewable like wind power. The greenies I’ve heard from don’t like that either.
The ‘Ozone Hole’ is now, and has always been a thinning of the Ozone Layer — NEVER a complete lack of ozone.
Something like 10% thinning.
OH, the ‘hole’ only shows up in the Antarctic during the (southern hemispheres) winter months when there is little to no sun. Of course the Ozone Layer protects us from solar radiation. A 10% thinning when there is no sun is no reason to ram world-wide poverty down our throats.
When the ozone layer was first proven to have a hole in (subzero) Antarctica, it was never determined whether that hole was, at one time, not a hole.
It was just assumed to have been created by human activity.
Due diligence shows that ozone increases are measured over Hawai’i...tropical Hawai’i.
It’s OK, tho.
2+2=5
The end game of all leftist ploys is the acquisition of power and the exercise thereof over us. Anything else they say is a red-herring.
“I always wondered why Hydro-electric isnt considered a renewable like wind power. The greenies Ive heard from dont like that either.”
During the Clinton regime his Sec. of Interior wanted to knock down hydro-electric dams. Especially many of the dams on the Columbia river.
If you’ve never seen these dams you cannot comprehend the enormous amount of electricity they generate.
The leftists HATE dams, as such they cannot be considered ‘renewable energy.’
“endgame”
To make each succeeding generation of HVAC refrigerants twice as expensive as the last.
IIRC the thinning/hole fluctuates between the 2 poles over a number of years. Are the calculations made from the waning years. What made them choose their base year?
The hole in the ozone layer is like climate change....it changes...just like the climate changes...and only Biden, Harris, AOC and the squad can make them return to “normal”.
Amazing to me how little anyone ever talks about where the ozone layer comes from!
It comes from the interaction of ultraviolet light and Oxygen (O2)... Generating O3. It’s also generated by any electrical spark, especially lightning, and electrical equipment (crt tv set, etc) in much lower quantities.
Most of it however is created high in the atmosphere by the sun where Oxygen is pretty much un-shielded from the sun. O3 is heavier than O2. It sinks... all the way down to the surface, where O3 levels range from .01 - .05 parts per million.
The reason we have an ozone hole is because THERE’s NO SUNLIGHT THERE!
O3 is very unstable... lasting less than 24-48 hours before it reverts back to O2, shedding an O1 in the process. This O1 then combines with another O1 to form yet another O2, OR the O1 finds another carbon based molecule to bond with.
So.... the ozone layer is something which is actually VERY fluid in it’s existence. Pretty much every single ozone molecule up there is LESS THAN 24-48 HOURS OLD!
It is constantly dropping it’s O3 molecules to earth as new O2 molecules rise and take their place to be converted in turn.
There is only 2 ways you could actually destroy the ozone layer....
1. Suck all of the oxygen out of the atmosphere.
2. Put out the sun.
This all sounds like settled science, but I notice that nobody is suggesting bringing back R-12 which is probably the best refrigerant we had. It was priced right, but they said it was destroying the ozone layer. Never did believe that & you notice what happened to refrigerant prices after R-12 was all but done away with. I’d like to see someone made to account for this. I should imagine that many of these folks are the same ones trying to sell us on this “renewable energy” fallacy today.
why Hydro-electric isnt considered a renewable
Greenies and eco nuts consider Hydro electric bad- as it is usually generated by dammed rivers
He’s not President anymore.
>>> This all sounds like settled science
Science has become nothing more than a propagandist tool to thwart the will of the people.
A single major volcanic eruption (like mt St Helens) puts more ozone destroying chemicals into the atmoshphere than man has THROUGHOUT his entire history.
And with NOTHING to be harmed by more UV rays!
