Thank you for your kind thoughts. Much appreciated.
Pretty sure my local meteorologist said the season is not over. There may be another storm on the horizon. I tuned him out before hearing details. Nothing shows on the 5 day forecast.

I hope that does not dissuade the home improvement folks from coming and refacing my garage and rebuilding my fireplace chimney this week. I will have a fire in my living room come the holidays this year. Hey, Karl Rove never handed me the keys to his Weather Machine, it's not my doing........

If the track stays the same, which is rare, looks like Fla.and Ala. will get more of the storm than LA. Tracks move however.

NHC will not retire Greek alphabet storm names. A significantly destructive storm would be known by name and year (e.g. Zeta 2020).

We'll know more when Zeta emerges from the Yucatan Peninsula.
Given Zeta's acceleration before landfall, strong winds are likely to spread well inland along northern Gulf coast Wednesday night.

According to my personal weather station, here in Tallassee I’ve gotten 108 inches of rain since 1 Jan 2020.
That’s 9 feet of rain.
A lot better than last year. I prayed for rain then. I won’t mess with the weather again, promise!

I’m in the Southern Blue Ridge around 2000’ elevation. Local NOAA has the Thursday forecast as wind gusts up to 28 mph.
Given the forward speed of the storm based on the estimated travel time for Tropical Storm Force Winds at reply #55, I think 28 mph is underestimated.
Going to prep today for power loss.

"Thats 9 feet of rain. " That's amazing.
I remember being surprised to learn that Mobile (The Rainest City In The USA) has a normal rainfall of five feet a year. Until....I read about a place in Bangladesh that normally gets fifty feet a year.

I’ll bet Mobile got 12 feet of rain this year at least.
A very wet year for the entire Gulf. Can’t speak for Western Texas or East Florida, but from Corpus Christi to Texarkana, though Apalachicola to Macon, Georgia, we’ve been drenched.

Well, my pecans are starting to drop and I’ve been picking them up before the critters get them. I’ve gotten two five gallon buckets full now.
These winds will knock em all down, so I better get busy this weekend!

Poor LA.
Sheesh, just like my/our AO in 2005.
May the Lord help the northern Gulf coast to recover quickly. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.

Man, poor Louisiana. Getting hit again. Coastal Mississippi/Alabama, too. Theyve been on the dirty side of every one of these storms.
