As a fellow southerner, I understand why you appreciate the term.Well, I would mash food things or my gas pedal, but not a item on my monitor screen with a picture of an arrow. It's not a big deal and I shouldn't called him unprofessional. He's just being different.

LOL! Mash is my own term. Not the NHC. Now, a lot of us use tablets, phones, and even my laptop has a touch screen. Mash is absolutely appropriate in these cases.

they expect to have the 'first pass' of hurricane Sally rubble removal along the road sides complete by Thanksgiving (11-26-2020). Earlier today, Zeta was having trouble stacking into a healthier storm.
Took months for the yard mess removal here after Irma. Next time, I'm paying someone to remove the yard salad.

Whoa. Landfall on the Gulf Coast then off the coast of Cape Cod 36 hours later. That’s a distance of 1200 miles.
1200/36= 33.3mph of forward movement. There is a huge swath of the South that is going to get hammered with wind.

Aaaaand right over our heads in another 72 hours, give or take.

Are we getting close to the end of Hurricanes for this year? It should be happening soon, right? Any idea for a storm name after Zeta?
Anyhow, thanks for the wonderful and comforting job you do every year. You're a treasure NautiNurse...
