New Jersey Mayor Derek Armstead was caught opening government food boxes to the poor, removing letters from President Trump and replacing the letters with his own.
The Democrat mayor wants his constituents to believe they came from his office.
This is dishonest and unsanitary.
But he is a Democrat.
---------
A letter from President Donald Trump that accompanied U.S. Department of Agriculture fresh food boxes for Linden was replaced by one from the citys Democratic mayor, Derek Armstead.
Food boxes were opened by local public works department employees. Trumps letter was removed and a letter from Armstead was added.
The original letter in these boxes was removed, and the mayor had city employees put in his letter on work time, said Councilwoman Gretchen Hickey, a Democrat and an Armstead political rival.
Armstead acknowledged that his message was added to the box, offering local residents the impression to recipients that the food came from him.
Whenever I do a delivery, I always add a letter from the mayor, Armstead told the New Jersey Globe.

No. It won’t.
Nahh. It is always about “their” agenda. Nothing else matters.
Agree.
Yes. And who is deciding who “needs” it.
We have a weekly food distribution effort at our local church.
Have for a long time.
correct

Yes, it is about Dependency. They use this as a tool to control the vote which keeps them in power.
Didn’t Cambodia do that with our grain bags from USAID? Same liars, different country.
great!
I wish all churches (or at least more of them) would distribute/deliver food
some do a great job of it!
some .. not. or even not at all.
we have a nice friend in need in Tennessee who we try to help but it is a distance so we are not there to see, monitor....and she’s fainted and had to be taken to hospital emergency from malnutrition. she calls all the churches and food pantry places. sometimes they offer some help. sometimes, though, when she manages to get there (maybe a 4 or 5 mile walk, as she doesn’t drive) they tell her no or that they “ran out” (this, after they promised to give her food if she could come fetch it)
as difficult as it is to provide and run a food pantry, it is only more difficult to deliver needed groceries to people who cannot pick it up (requires at least a volunteer driver and car...)
so even with all the welfare program giveaways AND churches that do care, there are still some folks in need. I have personally called her local welfare office and been told that when people receive almost anything from sociable insecurity disability, the state of Tennessee cuts off its local welfare (there are cut off amounts but they are too low to enable enough food, alas!)
so we have another order sent in is about all we can do from a distance.
blessings to all the churches who do help people in need!
Yes. There are no strings attached to local Church distribution of food.
I’m not sure. But at a point in times I know that Cambodian government used food to keep people supporting the leaders.
I’ve had some experience with USAID in foreign countries, they did come through when no one else could/would. In N Syria, during the assault on Raqqa (ISIS headquarters). I had exchanges with my congressman about this long before the need was evident.
During WWII, packages sent to the Soviet Union were labelled as coming courtesy of the “New York Workers’ Party” or some other Commie-sounding name.
well, she is in Tennessee primarily because she has a brother not to far away that said he would help her. he gave her a little help and then quit. some families are worthless (and her other brother took her car away so he is no help either)
some families are worse than worthless, alas it is not always possible to just tell people to get help from their relations
What a low life no wonder he’s a democrat.
Here, caring for sick family is normal. Not all families are close, but in very rural areas, neighbors take care of each other. It was once more common than it is today.
I suspect any name on a package there would have been appreciated. Or it may have been an instruction of the leadership in Russia.
agreed!
family first care givers
neighbors/churches second
community third
state fourth, only as necessary
fed govt is not intended to be in the welfare business, not can/does it do a good job of it
when family is not good (or there is no family) then needy hae to rely on neighbors and churches. neighbors are not helping in her town like maybe they would 30 years ago, alas. Churches...? some help but not sufficiently, often mislead her into walking 4 or 5 miles for nothing....and will seldom even try to deliver even knowing she can’t drive to pick stuff up (and groceries can be heavy, bulkey too, so even if they give her stuff she can only carry or wheel home so much)
despite the many remaining good people and churches, our larger society is getting more and more rotten. as you probably realize with your comment that helping those who need it “was once more common than it was today”
this is a serious issue, a societal and moral issue...
Just like foreign Dictators do when Food is donated by the US. They remove the American Flag and any mention of the United States from the Pallets.
That was indeed the case.
