They don’t to sell their polls or make the rounds if they show Trump winning. Look at Luntz, his panel goes 9-1 for Trump. Then he says it’s 50-50. They have to lie because the media censors other viewpoints. And that’s their fault for caving to it.

Lumpy Luntz is referred to as a Republican pollster and then again as a GOP pollster in this excerpt.
I’ve never perceived him to be either. Never heard him referred to as either.
He’s just a pollster who gleefully said, after the first Trump/Clinton/Kelly debate in 2016 “We’ve just witnessed the destruction of a Presidential campaign.” in reference to what he thought was Kelly’s takedown of the Donald.
He’s a lousy pollster with a man crush on the late Jim Traficant, thus the wig and manner.

It isn’t that Luntz’s focus groups are wrong it’s just that he doesn’t like the result. Proving once again that liberalism is a disease with no cure.
Polling is not “done” as Luntz fears. They suffered no consequences at all for being wrong. This indicates that their job, such as it is, is not to accurately predict the election outcome. No, they try to gaslight the public. They are just another part of the liberal media. Sure, there are honest pollsters out there. There are honest reporters out there. They are a vanishing breed.
2000 is slightly beyond what you need for an accurate sample but 2000 is only a fraction of the half million which is the population of our smallest state.
You would get as solid data as is possible to get by polling. Which means it would still be off by a couple of percentage points.
