Stole this thnx!
LOLOL!!
Captures my sentiment perfectly.
Always preferred Jimmy Webb
LOL...You scooped me on his singing...I don’t see how his warbling, even of his own material, could inspire anyone to do anything but plug their ears.
Do you know the way to four more years?
Biden who takes kickbacks from China is their guy... lots of money Biden didn't have to work for... lots of attitude. Fun at a dinner party. Let the little people 'eat cake' right?
That’s pretty much the only argument they have, that they just don’t like him.
Wonder what Barry Manilow has to say?
Last I heard, Barry would refuse to appear on a talk show if a conservative guest was also going to be sitting there.
I was so disappointed in Barry when I heard how closeminded he was. It happens when you live in a bubble and can fire anyone who disagrees with you for any reason.
I experienced the same disappointment with rock/pop star
Todd Rundgren, except the hurt was far deeper. Todd’s music helped me through my teen years. “How could he now be so hateful to non-liberals?” I wondered.
The musicians can grow old and sour, but the pleasure I got/get from their music can never be taken away.
So I remain thankful for their talents, and ignore their
crabbiness of today.
Oh darn. All of his melodies were my favorites. How stupid for a famous, beloved artist to turn away half of his audience. I will always love his songs, but will never again listen to them without thinking about how much he hates me for voting for Trump.
I didn’t know until a few years ago that he wrote “The Man who Shot Liberty Valance.” I was surprised because it’s not the style I associate with him. I wonder if he will be singing that one?
I’ll take “People you thought were dead” for $500, Alex.
Burt wrote some great music and, with Hal David’s lyrics and Dionne Warwick’s singing, became a standard in classic pop hits.
He had his second, “Lost Horizon”
feh...
Another HUGE fan of Jimmy Webb who was among the VERY best songwriter of the 60s, 70s, and 80s.
JW, unlike BurtB, wrote BOTH the music and lyrics.
“Wichita Lineman” is as close to a perfect pop song/love song as anyone could ever write. Glenn Campbell’s guitar solo was done on Carol Kaye’s 6-string bass that he borrowed from his fellow Wrecking Crew member.
What’s it all about Alfie ?
Probably like the other Hollywood types: Work a few weeks out of the year and then sit home drinking, smoking dope, listening to their Marxist buddies with the resultant SFB syndrome taking over their lives.
