This is where she was obviously wrong. I, on the other hand, have been predicting for weeks that this would be an uneventful confirmation process.

The GOP hasn’t gotten any smarter or tougher in these battles. The difference between Kavanaugh and Barrett is that Barrett is a smart, harmless-seeming woman. The political optics of opposing her nomination in the weeks leading up to an election would be awful. That’s why the Democrats have made their opposition more about the process than about the nominee.

I think this nomination went through without any real hitches because of a lot reasons but the two biggest are 1) President Trump's unwavering support and 2) ACB is an exceptionally well-qualified as a jurist and a moral human being.

Hopefully, ACB is the first in a line of nominations to the USSC of people without Ivy League ties. There are plenty of qualified judges who have not been contaminated by those liberal indoctrination camps.
