There’s a sad sort of clanging from the clock in the hall
And the bells in the steeple too
And up in the nursery an absurd little bird
Is popping out to say “cuckoo”
Cuckoo, cuckoo!!!
I like your way of thinking ;)
If she had a filter, no problem drinking the water.
Even easier, although she may not have had this knowledge, dig a hole in the sand as far away from the running source in which water will still seep into from underneath. It is sand filtered and very clean once the cloudiness settles. Done this many times.
Oh yes, very sketchy. I’ve actually been following this because I live in Utah and I was in southern Utah when this was all going on (Kanab, UT area, Escalante, and Vermillion Cliffs Nat’l Monuments). The whole “bumped my head and got disoriented” is nearly always a scam, that’s said by somebody who knows nothing about head injuries. If she’s got the faculties to survive in that environment for two weeks, she’s got the faculties to walk out of there and flag somebody down enroute. Zion Nat’l Park isn’t that big, staying away from people in that area requires effort, and an experienced hiker would know what to do. All you’d have to do is get back on the trail, sit there if you feel like you can’t walk out, and wait for somebody to come along, which would happen inside of 10 minutes. Not sure if she was distraught after losing her job and just desperate to get away, doing a disappearing act for attention, or something else.
I hike a lot in southern Utah and northern AZ, I sure as hell carry a couple of them.

You remove the algae before it ruptures.
If it has ruptured the 2-stage filtration removes most of the toxins.
Let me be clear, I do not believe her story but the reasoning given by the Sheriffs deputy is as flimsy as her account of going for a couple hour hike carrying a multi-day pack and bedding
They probably asked her that and got a blank stare.
A guy went missing near a wilderness area here in Western NC last week and they found him dead a day or so ago.
Mental issues are probably the contributing factor in this case.
Soon; you'll be required to wear a mask to fight 'climate change'. Just wait.
So I logged on the Lifestraw website, and the water bottle version of that featured a little queer rainbow ribbon.
Hoax....biden voter no doubt...
Absolutely. The good thing is that this chick is DUMB. If she had pulled this stunt on the east side of Capitol Reef NP, out at the San Rafael Swell where the San Rafael River runs through, or a ton of other places in southern Utah, this scam may have worked. Oh yeah, and have a Lifestraw or two with you! By the way, I have a good friend and co-worker who works search and rescue in northern Utah. He told me 100% this story of hers is a total crock, just by looking at the news reports. Talking to other search and rescue buddies set it in concrete. The sheriff’s office there must really have a lock on that if they’re talking about it publicly and not doing the ole,”We don’t comment on a continuing investigation....”
Thanks for the info.
Yes it does, and the post from yesterday showed that it was reeking then too.
I thought so too. I didn't read anywhere in the article that she actually turned up anywhere inside the park; it was just implied. I chalked it up to poor writing.
Howd she get lost? If she started hiking from one of the scenic drive trailheads, got lost and found the river, she could have followed the river back out.
her story was fishy from the get go.
“Sunlight will kill bacteria. Fill water bottle and leave in sun. “
These dudes love sunlight! They also live in hot springs at near-boiling temperatures!
It comes in about a dozen different colors.
My daughter lives in CA. My husband and I always say all of the residents in her town look like escapees from Woodstock.
I think she and her husband are the only Republicans for miles.
