The b.s. was so blatant when they said it protects others, not the mask-wearer. How can that be? The virus is so smart it can go IN the mask, but not OUT?

The virus is VERY SMART. It will spread if you walk from the door to a table in a restaurant. It will not spread if you are sitting down eating.
Their reasoning is that the most dangerous particles are in large droplets that go out when someone sneezes, spreading out like a bomb blast. Supposedly the mask stops the large droplet from escaping. They don't bother to explain why the virus wouldn't go out like a bomb blast anyway from the force of the droplet hitting the mask and the virus passing through.
Actual science isn't their strong point.
Did some painting yesterday and the mask I was wearing didn’t stop me from smelling the fumes. The size of the fumes are larger than the Covid virus, so the mask I was wearing was and is a waste of money. Sorry I lost the link to this information.

By pushing the idea that “your mask is to protect others”, they got out ahead of people using one of the left’s favorite lines, “My body, my choice”, or, “Get your laws off my body”.

This is exactly right! I work in dentistry. You are supposed to have your N-95 masks “fit tested”, so that you can’t smell anything. On top of everything else, most people who wear masks are wearing them wrong and/or constantly touching their faces to adjust it.

Some of us have been saying this all along. My favorite subjects in the public screwall system were math and science. Back in the 1960’s they were still teaching some truth. I have known since then that virus’ are to small to be trapped in any kind of cloth or paper mask.
The title is misleading and a lie. It does not represent the article. Whatever side you are on about masks, at least post a title that represents the article.

The article said CLOTH maskes don’t work. The study compared the use of medical masks vs. CLOTH masks for health care workers.
CLOTH masks don’t work.
Medical masks do work.
That is the conclusion of the article. IMHO, I don’t think medical masks work either the way I watch people use them in day to day practice with terrible hygiene practices, constantly adjusting them, wearing them around the neck, re-using them for weeks on end.
But in the end, that the conclusion of the study Paul referred to and his own tweet state CLOTH masks don’t work. Medical masks do work per the study.

When I said “article” above, I meant “the study”.

Do yourself a favor. Buy a charcoal filtered RESPIRATOR.
The kind that has two screw on replaceable filters. This is the kind professionals use for spraying paint on your car, furniture lacquer finishes, etc.
They cost about $40. You will have it for the rest of your life. Most good hardware stores carry them.
FYI, the reason that they are no good for covid is because they protect YOU and not the people around you. They have a valve that lets YOUR respiration out unfiltered.
The ONLY masks that work are N95(or small hole) masks. The kind I have in my woodworking shop for filtering out sanding/cellulose particles.
These are the type of mask that goes on with rubber bands to make a tight seal around your face. You can also use a respirator(per my previous post) that will protect you but NOT the people around you. It does not filter the wearers respiration.
