They left a lot of existing structures -- that were already "plumbed" -- probably to serve as latrines, aid centers, offices, etc. And there are plenty of larger existing structures to serve as assembly areas, etc.

(Do you really think we give a rap how far -- or in what weather -- traitors have to walk?)

Plus -- if they really put 8 per structure -- that only tops out the 144-unit capacity at 1,152

Good question. Obviously, I had to ask it, myself.

In no particular order:

• There are reliable records of mega$$ being allocated for that very purpose (expanded prisoner capacity at Gitmo).

• If you check the link in my first comment, you'll see that actual architects' CGI proposals have been submitted -- but for the site of [much smaller] "Phillips Park" (which, as yet, shows zero evidence of construction).

• Intel that prisoner "hooch" construction was underway. (This is the only visible construction to date on the 9.5 mile X 5.5 mile property..)

• The site terrain is lower than that on the opposite side of the bay (Hurricanes..)

• The site is isolated from the main Naval Station (ferry required).

• Air traffic is virtually nil -- except for the ocasional C-130 -- so aircrew accommodations are no longer needed -- much less worthy of expansion.

Can you offer an alternate explanation for the expansion? Supported by intel?
