Pennsylvania has cast off hundreds of thousands of applications for mail-in ballots ahead of the 2020 election, because of confusion about the process.
About 372,000 requests were rejected, as reported by ProPublica on Friday, largely because many of them, about 90%, were duplicates. Overall, one out of every five requests for mail-in ballots are being rejected, according to the publication.
However, people who made more than one request should eventually receive their ballot, a spokesperson for the Pensylvania State Department said. They can also head to the polls on Election Day.

I would have sent two applications in myself: one by mail and one online ... just because Id assume one of them will get screwed up and I wont receive a ballot. When you send a request for a ballot by mail there are THREE opportunities for the U.S. Postal Service to disenfranchise you: (1) when you mail your request for a ballot, (2) when the ballot is mailed to you, and (3) when you complete the ballot and mail it back.
Yep. Mailing request, getting ballot, mailing ballot — three possible f-ups by USPS.

Back before the June 2nd Primary, you could go online and request a mail-in ballot and check the box requesting that you would automatically be sent a ballot for the General election in the Fall. Those who did so were notified by email over a month ago that they DID NOT have to request another ballot and that one would be sent to them automatically. You receive further emails when your ballot is sent and when your completed ballot is received. There really isn’t any justification for requesting a ballot more than once, unless you are one of those clowns who do it “just in case” or.....you are trying to cheat.
Pennsylvania really screwed up mail in voting. People who asked for mail in for the primary were automatically registered to receive mail in for November. That was not explained at all. So people who wanted to vote in November asked for a mail in ballot thinking they needed to. That is how the mess happened. My family asked for mail in for primary because being Republican in Pennsylvania, there is really no choice. Now we got our mail in ballots so we will take them on Nov 3rd and vote in person. The poll worker will check our mail in ballot and destroy it and we use the machine.
APPLICATIONS Applications are not ballots!
