The reporting on this story has been consistently awful across every media outlet that has covered it. First they say 372,000 ballots were rejected, then they say 372,000 ballot APPLICATIONS were rejected. In the latter case, there was never a ballot sent out at all. Which is it?

I would have sent two applications in myself: one by mail and one online ... just because I’d assume one of them will get screwed up and I won’t receive a ballot. When you send a request for a ballot by mail there are THREE opportunities for the U.S. Postal Service to disenfranchise you: (1) when you mail your request for a ballot, (2) when the ballot is mailed to you, and (3) when you complete the ballot and mail it back.

Yep. Mailing request, getting ballot, mailing ballot — three possible f-ups by USPS.
