Former Vice President Joe Bidens lead shrunk in Hillsborough County since the last poll conducted in late September, according to a new survey from St. Pete Polls released Saturday.
The latest poll shows Biden with a 9-point lead over Donald Trump in the county at 53% to 44%. The previous poll, by the same pollsters, showed Trump with a 13 point deficit in the county at 55% to 42%.
...
... One of the biggest take-aways from the latest poll is the crossover appeal for both candidates. In the Sept. 29 poll, Biden claimed 16% support from Republican voters, a staggering number for a hyper-partisan top of ticket race. Meanwhile, Trump only claimed 9% support from Democrats.
Fast forward to this Friday and those numbers dipped. Trumps support among Democrats jumped to 14% while Bidens dipped from Republicans to 15%, a six point shift that covers the overall drop in Bidens commanding lead in the county.
There was also a huge shift in support among Black voters, a loyal base for Democrats and Biden. In September, only 6% of Black voters polled supported the President. Come Friday, the new poll showed 13% support. Support among White voters also grew for the President, going from 49.5% last month to 51% in the new poll.
In an even bigger shift, Bidens lead among voters 70 and older disappeared. He went from having a 49% to 47% advantage among that age cohort to being at a 52% to 45% deficit.
Trump winning Hillsborough has never been an option in the blue county, but his deficit is now more in line with his loss to Hillary Clinton in 2016 when she won by nearly seven points. The latest poll puts his still behind comparatively, but by far less than the previous poll...

Hillsborough County is a bluish purple county. Tampa is the majority blue, but the Eastern part is red and Sun City Center is red. That said, I think Hillsborough will be a swing area...
It doesn't add up to 100%, I think either the 64% or 62% is a typo.
It’s still a great number, though. Thank you.
I watched an interesting video about swing counties/bellwethers in this election. The commentator said Hillsborough used to be a reliable bellwether of who would win FL but not anymore. DJT lost Hillsborough but won the state so it can’t be much of a bellwether now.
The commentator said watch St Lucie county as a bellwether instead. I can’t comment about that, not knowing anything about that county (seat is Ft Pierce), but I found this info:
“St. Lucie county flipped Republican in the last Presidential election, after voting Democratic in the previous four. In the last Presidential election, St. Lucie county flipped Republican, 49.5% to 47.1%”
Agreed. I figured 62% as Independent was high. 32% is still startling. But when it comes to the DEMs, you can never be too sure about anything over 100% with voter totals. ;)
Hillsborough County always goes to the Democrats in the presidentials. I’ve lived here for 34 years and I don’t remember any election where that did not hold. It has always voted opposite the rest of the state, just like Miami-Dade. It’s never been a belwether. Especially now with the recent massive influx of newly-arrived and registered Puerto Ricans since the 2016 general, it will remain so. They vote Democrat en masse.
“Doesnt Hillsborough always go Rat?”

Hillsborough went...
2008: Bamster +7.2% over Juan McQueeg
2012: Bamster +6.8% over Mittens
2016: Hildabeast 6.9% over DJT
So, Biden is now +9.2% in this St. Pete poll that oversampled Ds by 9%...
It is interesting that DJT received almost 13% of the Black vote and was tied with Sleepy at 47% for Hispanic voters...
It will all come down to turnout...get your voters out...or mailing in...
if the Dems had run Mickey Mouse instead of Plugs Biden..they’d be up 20 points!
I dont like him. Not funny and a money-grabber.

Thanks for the explanation! Lets just hope Trump can repeat the win in FL like he did in 2016! Go Trump!!!
Biden claimed 16% support from Republican voters
Im calling bs on this poll.
Which is where?
Source? Maybe I missed it but I didn't see anything in the article that revealed the partisan breakdown of the poll.
They might want to stop putting many eggs in the I-4 basket. That corridor has a huge sinkhole right in the middle of it. The Orlando area that once attracted Walt Disney, specifically Orange County, Osceola County (Kissimmee) and the now-deteriorating Seminole County have all gone (or are in the process of going, in the case of Seminole) hard left.
Republican candidates for President won metro Orlando every single time from 1948 to 2004. They are 0 for 3 since and the trend isn't a positive one.
Wow, Trump at 47% with Huspanics in Hillsborough County. And important to remember that the historically Republican Cuban population more on the Atlantic side, is not all that big in Hillsborough. Big inroads for Trump into the Puerto Ricans!
34% I
4% R
62% D

Found the actual St. Pete’s poll...
Not hard to find...
You're right - if this holds it's the end of the democrat party...
