Covid-19: Republicans are ready to return to normal but Democrats aren’t, new poll suggests

October 15, 2020 (LifeSiteNews) – A recent Gallup poll analysis suggests a radical difference in the perspectives on the coronavirus between Republicans and Democrats. 

The poll was conducted, in part, to gauge the difference between men’s and women’s attitudes and behaviors towards coronavirus guidelines, but also shows a growing divide between Republicans and Democrats.

A June Pew Research study showed that Republicans and those who lean Republican reported being more comfortable doing everyday activities than their liberal counterparts. North of the border, the Canadian Angus Reid Institute found a similar disparity between Canadian conservatives and liberals.

The greatest gaps between Republicans and Democrats in the most recent Gallup survey analysis are found in attitudes to indoor mask wearing and in readiness to return to normal. Whereas 90% or more of Democrat voters reported always wearing masks indoors when unable to social distance, only 40% of men and 56% of women identifying as Republican reported doing so. Very few liberals reported being ready to return to normal. A mere 5% of male and 3% of female Democrats reported such readiness. In contrast, over half of Republicans, both men and women, would be willing to resume normal activities.

Here is my hard-right reality check.

COVID-19 is airborne.

That means, “in the air, everywhere”.

It is ENDEMIC.

We will ALL get exposed..over and over, sooner and later.
MANY of us will “test positive”, mostly without symptoms.
SOME of us will be “symptomatic”, and a subset will be really sick.
And (unfortunately) a FEW of us will die.

This is NOT the Bubonic plague.
This is NOT the Spanish Influenza.

Tear off that face diaper.
Breathe deeply. Inhale some COVID. Inhale some more.

"Normal" is the Democrats' worst enemy. At least until total control is "normal".

Now that a public health emergency is generally accepted as a reason to suspend all constitutional protections, that what they want from now on.

If not covid 19, then climate change and/or racism will be declared public health emergencies. In fact they have already floated thoses idea a little bit, so I'm not really prognosticating.

A microcosm of this was found in my hometown. The Democrat controlled City Board recently voted to extend their mask mandate (scheduled to expire October 31st) to November 3rd.

That in a nutshell, tells you exactly what this is all about.
