'Unmasking' probe concludes without 'finding any substantive wrongdoing': report
The Hill ^ | 10 13 2020 | Olivia Beavers

Posted on 10/13/2020 5:12:08 PM PDT by yesthatjallen

The federal prosecutor Attorney General Bill Barr tapped to investigate whether Obama administration officials improperly requested the unmasking of individuals during the 2016 election has concluded his probe without “finding any substantive wrongdoing,” The Washington Post reported Tuesday.

Barr appointed U. S. Attorney Jeremy Bash to review whether there was wrongdoing by the Obama administration in requesting the identities of individuals — in particular Trump allies — whose names are redacted in intelligence reports during the heated election.

The practice, known as unmasking, is common and done to help government officials make sense of the intelligence documents they are reviewing, but the president and his allies have alleged that Obama-era officials acted improperly in making a series of unmasking requests that ultimately led to former Trump campaign aide Michael Flynn’s name to be unmasked.

According to the Post, Bash and his team reviewed unmasking practices as well as whether officials at the time improperly leaked information to reporters. Bash reportedly turned over his findings to Barr, whose office chose not to publicly release the findings. The findings did not rise to the allegations Trump and his allies have made about wrongdoing, according to the report.

Did he find evidence to exonerate Obama, Hillary, Biden, et al.? Well, then they’re guilty.

Of course not. Did anyone think that Barr and his circle jerkers would do anything but protect the elitists.

You or I do something like this and we would be under the jail.

Elections will not fix what is broke. Weeding of America’s garden needs to get under was. Tons AMFd

Agreed, but the problem is finding someone who is qualified for those positions, who could be confirmed, and is not a swamp creature.

Perhaps some folks need a new slogan instead of: "Trust the Plan!"

Bilbo Bags seemed to be about give and take “justice”. HunterB just got some bad press, so he gives us some bad news, too.

I understand what you’re saying but it’s easier said than done.

Rudy and Sekulow would have a difficult time getting through the senate, for one.

You seem to forget that the Swamp/Deep State/Globalists are everywhere, not only in DC.

Conspiracy has to be to do something illegal. It is not an unattached crime - just like perjury is not supposed to be.

Barr, Wray and Haspell have to go on day one of a new Trump administration. Barr is no friend of Trump.

So far I heard Trump told Melania to take them off the Christmas card list.

Seriously, this is the one cause I care about and it is incredibly enraging to me. My source of being "triggered." I use a lot of energy holding back my anger at things like this.

One more thing: We need Cruz to stay in the senate where he is very effective, especially on the Judiciary Committee.

We must fight smart, not on emotion or what might sound good.

William Barr did a great job of shielding the CIA from criminal exposure related to flooding the streets of the United States with crack cocaine.....

....Iran Contra was all about shipping illegal weapons south of the border & flying drugs into the United States. William Barr was a high level officer in the Mena Arkansas-based operation.

I guess the people who were asking for the unmasking were legally “able” to do that.

They could be transferred to a new special FBI outpost in northern Alaska, digging deeper into the crimes of salmon thievery.

There has to be something that could be done with all those evil treacherous traitorous scumbags. Get creative!

Well, it’s like this: The law says it’s illegal to spy on a private citizen domestically without a warrant. So you get a warrant and then it’s not illegal. But to get a warrant you need probable cause, and if you lie about having probable cause that’s illegal. So you find a way to “create” probable cause by having your friends leak false stories to the media for you. Now you’ve got a warrant, and you can spy on them, but you can’t tell anyone what you found out, because that is illegal. But you can “unmask” them and then anyone in the government can read what you found out, and if one of them leaks it, well, they might be committing a crime but you are not.

So in the end, you have achieved the same thing that the law says should be illegal, but you’ve done it in a way where none of the steps you took was technically illegal in itself. It’s like if you tell your kid not to take cookies from the cookie jar, but come home to find it empty and the kids says “Well, I didn’t take cookies from the cookie jar. The dog knocked the cookie jar over, and then I took the cookies from the counter and ate those. You never said I couldn’t take cookies from the counter.”

And more importantly NEVER talk to anyone with the FBI, they will entrap you, eagerly.

There has been a Manhunt series on(CBS) covering the Richard Jewel travesty. Been three show so far and they seem to be showing how scummy the FBI was in this fiasco, I would recommend it highly.
