Kyle Rittenhouse will not face gun charges in Lake County related to the AR-15-style weapon he is charged with using to kill two men and wound a third during violent protests in Kenosha in August, prosecutors announced Tuesday.
An Antioch police investigation found that the Smith & Wesson .223 caliber rifle was purchased, stored and used in Wisconsin and turned up no evidence the 17-year-old physically possessed the weapon in Illinois, according to a news release from the office of Lake County States Attorney Mike Nerheim. The news release does not reveal who is believed to have bought or held the gun before the shooting.

“Awesome. Democrats must be spinning their heads over this.”
Awesome? This is from Illinois, not Wisconsin where he faces multiple charges.
“Grosskreutz appeared to be holding a handgun when he was wounded in the arm, prosecutors wrote.”
Appeared to be holding a gun? Video and still photos confirm he was aiming the gun at Kyle.
Dude should never have to pay for a drink again for life.
Uh, no.
Maybe a presidential medal of freedom, COMs are reserved for uniformed personnel.
That said, the youngster did well under threat of fire.
He needs to beat the charges and become a full blown patriot. Let’s help him by donating to his defense and acting in a manner worthy of our Founders.
“Dude should never have to pay for a drink again for life.”
Again?
I guess thats good, but he faces 2 counts of murder.
And the weapon was legal for a 17-year-old to possess in Wisconsin.
Well if those clowns were at all consistent the sentence should read Grosskreutz appeared to be holding a handgun when he appeared to be wounded in what appeared to be his arm.
With a pretty solid case for self-defense.
It’s a bellweather. Winsconsin has a weak case. If one prosecutor is unwilling to try it, the other is probably of the opinion that it’s not a strong case for the state. Rittenhouse may still be prosecuted, but it’s winnable.
Yo Dems: wanna start another riot over this ruling?
Didn’t think so.
Why on Earth would he?

“Its a bellweather. Winsconsin has a weak case. If one prosecutor is unwilling to try it, the other is probably of the opinion that its not a strong case for the state.”
No. There was no case there.
“Rittenhouse may still be prosecuted,”
He will be prosecuted.
“Yo Dems: wanna start another riot over this ruling?”
There was never a case in Illinois. The main charges are in Wisconsin.
So he was that familiar, comfortable, and competent with a Borrowed rifle? Didn’t have to check the sights?
Targets were close however.
