Okay, and here's the point -- the SEAL Team 6 platoon that took out OBL was NOT the same platoon as the one that was shot down in August. The SEAL community knows that as surely as you know who your teammates were on a sports team.
There were different guys, so the entire "killed them to shut them up" theory fails right at the outset.
Again, not even the father of the SEAL killed in the helicopter crash is claiming that his son was on the OBL raid. People just seem to be making up that false fact because it fits a theory, but it isn't true.
They were on a Chinook helicopter that got shot down in Afghanistan a few weeks later. There was speculation at the time that it was an ambush.
I do remember some old story reported here at FR about Bidens big mouth outing Seal team 6 as the specific team that took Osama out.
Was it suppose to be secret as to the exact people to help prevent retribution?
Speculation on a faded memory for me.
Big mouth Biden.
looks like you’re wrong.
yes. bruce seems to be working hard to say this isn’t so but I remember it this way and then also posted a link from Fox News about it.
Not being combative, but I am not as versed on this subject. Are we sure they were different team members? I am trying to understand all of this. If they were different then that has to throw suspicion into the rest of this story. For years I have thought they were the same people.
Thanks!
You are lumping everyone in a team together.
This would be akin to putting all of the Rangers from a regiment together. I am sure you realize that the units involved would assigned to a regiment, but also a company/platoon/squad.
The Seals that were on the raid were cycled out almost immediately. The group that was shot down in the helicopter was from the same team, but they were different SEALs. They were based elsewhere, and aside from being in the same unit/team they had nothing to do with each other.
These accusations are so convoluted and twisted so as to generate a response from the reader. That tactic has clearly succeeded.
Thanks, there was speculation here that FraudCo facilitated the Seal team killings to atone for allegedly taking out his terrorist BFFs’ hero.
Like the Chris Kyle take-down.
Unless you want it to leak!
Isn’t it amazing how so many of us here still really, REALLY want to believe what Big Media excretes?
They are all related.
Those guys know not only who is in their own platoon, but most of the guys in other platoons as well, at least within their Team. They'll also know other guys in some other teams. Point is, it is a community, and that includes a very active group of thousands of former SEALs. When something happens, word gets around.
There is no way in a million years any Administration could pull off a lie about which SEALs were killed. The story repeatedly has been that they were from a different platoon -- even a different detachment. Going just off open sources, the SEALs who killed OBL were from Red Detachment, and the SEALs killed in the helicopter crash were from Gold.
Far too many people with personal relationships with the SEALs on both teams would know, and far too many of them have balls the size of basketballs to all keep shut about a betrayal that included murdering fellow SEALs. That community is not shy about going public when they feel they need to.
Remember also that two guys who claim to have been on the OBL raid went public, with books, describing what happened. And while a lot of SEALs were kind of pissed about the publicity, not a one has come out and said those weren't the guys who were there.
I don't know what that even means. But do you also believe that the SEALs who were on the bin Laden raid were the same SEALs killed in that August 2011 crash? Because again...they weren't.
I guess we must be part of the conspiracy too....
It’s annoying. I sometimes think that these kind of theories are actually put out there by our enemies to discredit us/make us look bad.
Unfortunately some of our “conservative compatriots” go out of their way to make our enemies job easier.
I’ll say.
looks like youre wrong.
Ugh....
They sailors killed in the crash were part of the same larger unit, SEAL Team 6, that had sent other sailors to kill OBL. That doesn't make them the same people any more than being an Ohioan is the same as being a New Yorker. Yes, New Yorkers and Ohioans are both part of the larger group of "Americans", but that doesn't mean that New Yorkers are actually Ohioans, or vice-versa.
who is Greg?
