A group of longtime Republican political operatives trying to unseat the president say they are willing to forgo a future in Republican politics to oust a leader they believe has driven the party of Lincoln into the ground. Lesley Stahl reports on the anti-Trump Super PAC the "Lincoln Project," whose lifelong Republican founders include former John McCain strategists Steve Schmidt and John Weaver, on the next edition of 60 Minutes, Sunday, October 11 at 7:30 p.m. ET and 7 p.m. PT on CBS.

1. They were all establishment GOP hacks who made a fortune working as consultants for years.
2. They were generally awful at their jobs. See the campaigns of John McCain and Mitt Romney as perfect examples of this.
3. In 2016 they were banking on Jeb Bush to win the GOP nomination so they could make more money on another Republican loser.
4. Donald J. Trump stole the control of their political party away from them by hijacking the GOP nomination in 2016 and return the party to its rightful owners -- Republican voters.
5. They've been shut out of the Republican consulting gig for 4+ years now.
6. They sat down and realized that they'll never work for another Republican candidate again, so they may as well start this #NeverTrump scheme to make a fortune from stupid donors while they can.
There it is in a nutshell.
And those who profit from sending young American men and women to die in protracted wars, hate him even more.

I think Schmidt wanted Palin, only because he thought she would turn off the Hillary fans who were considering voting for McCain, out of disdain for Obama. It clearly did have the intended effect, although to some degree Palin did fire up the base, but it wasn’t nearly enough.
How easy for someone to walk up, pull a silenced 9mm auto and pop them in the head.

i stumbled across 60 Mins and they were doing something on the chinese flu. I caught the last part of it and noticed they kept referring to him as “Mr Trump,” not “President Trump.” I wonder if they did the same for obama.
I saw that too. They really hacked Trump up while talking about some good news with the virus. I am still waiting for the grizzly bear segment but I now have to make it through the site loser GOPs who represent something like 1 to 2 percent of the GOP.

One of them is Stuart Stevens, who helped run the brilliant Romney campaign in 2012, worked for the Bushes and trashes Trump. The same Romney campaign that spent millions on a ballyhooed voter contact computer program called ORCA, brought 800 volunteers to a hall in Boston to get the vote out using ORCA. But ORCA had not been tested and it didn’t work so 800 volunteers sat around all day doing nuttin’. Not sure I would want any campaign advice from these “experts”.

Anyone who wants to do business in China- like our biggest companies do- will have to show that they supported efforts to remove Trump.
US lobbyists are united around China’s aims, and supporting Project Lincoln with money. Our US political press is supporting them in that.
