Inform Your Liberal Friends What You're Voting For

Unquestionably, it's becoming awkward to engage in conversations with your liberal friends. They are aghast to hear that you ‘still’ intend to vote for Donald Trump. They will refer to numerous elements of his personality which they don't like. They will refer to media reports, which surround them, portraying Trump in a highly negative light.

So, how do you reach them? How do you convey to them what you are truly voting for in this election? Perhaps the following points will work for you.

I’m Voting For...

If someone asks, “Why are you voting for Trump?” deflect the question and say actually, I'm voting to maintain First Amendment rights for everyone. I'm voting for freedom of speech and freedom of religion, which is sometimes under attack in this country, certainly for Christians. I believe that everyone has a right to speak, not to be censored or cancelled by factions within the U.S. who believe only they have a right to free speech.

Tell them that you're voting for the U.S. Constitution and the Bill of Rights. These are vital documents which guide us to this day. Tell them that you're voting for the Electoral College which ensures that ‘Fly Over’ states and those with small populations will continue to be important on the national scene, and not be overlooked because of mega-states – New York, California, Illinois, Florida, and Texas.

Tell them you’re voting for Supreme Court justices who interpret the U.S. Constitution as written, who do not legislate from the bench, and who are not partisan hacks who vote only one way in case after case. Tell them you're voting for the appointment of federal judges at the circuit level, on down, who uphold the U.S. Constitution and the Bill of Rights and who also do not legislate from the bench. That should silence some of your friends who are otherwise aghast.

I’m Just Getting Warmed Up

If the ball really gets rolling, tell them that you're voting to uphold the Second Amendment and your right to defend yourself and your family, if needed. Remind them that the National Rifle Association (NRA) members are not in the news as mass murderers or serial killers. Those who own and responsibly use guns are the least of law enforcement’s concerns.

Speaking of law enforcement, tell them that you're voting for law and order, and to uphold and maintain a viable, effective police force, not to defund police forces and allow cities to descend into chaos. Tell them that you're voting for cities in which it is safe to operate a business, to walk, and even to appear in the evening.

Tell them that you're voting for peace around the world, and you’re glad that many of our troops can return from foreign lands, and not be involved in unwinnable wars or ancient hostilities between warring groups. Tell them that you're voting for continued peace in the Middle East, where the president has already made great strides. Tell them that you're voting for the rights and benefits that our military veterans deserve for having served.

Tell them, as well, that you’re voting to put a halt to human and child trafficking around the world, and especially those that are brought against their will to the U.S.

Borders Matter

Tell them that you want secure U.S. borders and you don't wish to be flooded by illegal immigrants however they arrive – by air, by land, or by sea. We are a sovereign nation of laws and you have no intent on being overrun by hundreds of thousands, if not multi-millions, who would arrive here in a heartbeat if they were allowed.

Tell them that you're voting to keep jobs in the U.S. and not have them be outsourced to Mexico, the rest of South America, China, or the rest of Southeast Asia.

Tell them that you're voting for our heritage, which has taken more than 230 years to build, and despite past national sins and current challenges, we're getting better all the time. Tell them that you're voting for not merely a single presidential candidate, but for the future of the country, and the future of your children, your grandchildren, and your great-grandchildren.

Tell them you're voting for all the above, and so much more.

Democrats do not care about the constitution or border.

Stop trying to be logical and hit them in the gut.

Here is what I say:

I am voting for Trump because he is the most honest candidate elected to the White House in many decades.

That horrifies Democrats who think everyone believes Trump is a serial liar....with tens of thousands of lies under his belt.

I tell them that no candidate has kept his campaign promises better than Trump. What he says is his policy. He will answer questions from anyone and tell them what he thinks.

You do not have to agree with everything, but at least you know what Trump supports and opposes.

Biden/Harris have already flip-flopped on fracking, the green new deal, taxes, and Biden actually said voters do not DESERVE to know if he supports packing the Supreme Court.

I will take honest Trump over flip-flopping concealer, Biden.

How ironic that liberals are aghast at Trump’s personality but are willing to vote for Biden the groper and Harris who is just plain fingernails on a chalkboard likeable.

Lost a few leftist pals about four years ago. Haven’t heard from them since.

That’s exactly what I do. I tell them that a president should be elected on their platform, what they stand for, and not on likability or what the media says about them. That’s a very difficult sell with liberals because they are driven by raw emotion, not truth. In 2016 I talked about what conservativism was about with a young Hispanic Bernie supporter. I encouraged him to do some study. He did, and today he loves the Constitution and tells everyone why they should vote for Trump.

I’m pushing my mid-sixties and I’ve come to a position that I won’t even waist my time arguing with the “base” of the Dem’s Party. They have embraced every fringe group in America (5% here, 3% there) and now there are so many crazy voices screaming out of that party. They have included all of these nutty ideas into what we see now as their platform. A platform of Mao and Sodom and Gomorrah.

Abortion, case shut. No need to discuss any further.

And the leftists are so sensitive if Trump sends a “mean” tweet, but they are supportive of armed terrorists on a rampage, looting and burning everything.

The irony of the Democrat’s hatred is that Trump is NOT radical in any of his views, and he hasn’t been an ‘in your face’ partisan either - unless attacked by the left. They hate him because he’s not theirs.

I don’t have any liberal friends, and I have disowned my leftist-communist in-laws. Nothing I can say will change their minds, and I don’t particularly care what they think.

I refuse to visit them, and will be conveniently unavailable when / if they visit us, lest there be yelling, screaming, and other unpleasantness.

I am voting for Trump to make sure the democrats do not get a strangle hold on federal power because if they do, they will find ways to get the fbi, atf or other government agency to ‘accidentally’ murder my family and I when I do not comply with their unconstitutional ‘laws’.

Exactly.

DO NOT USE LOGIC ON LIBERALS. Their whole belief systems has morphed into “Logic and reason are white, and therefore EVIL! IQ IS RACIST!”

Do not use reason on people who only operate emotionally. It does no good.

People who know me can guess how I’ll vote and don’t ask. Those who don’t know me rarely ask. If they do, it’s none of their business and I very gently tell them so...why would I surrender my position?

I have been hearing from plenty of Dem voters who are sure they are right. This is what concerns them:

Remarks that Trump made in June 2015 when he entered the race that said only SOME Mexicans that come here illegally are good people. The rest were characterized as criminals. This is perceived by the Dems as racist, even though it isn’t.

So use your ideas to combat that misperception. That is the biggest hurdle to converting Dems to the American ideal of preserving the republic and keeping our country from falling into the hands of those who would defeat capitalism.

I don’t have leftist friends and my leftist acquaintances are immune to logic and reason. So I don’t tell them anything. Their minds such as they are are made up and facts aren’t going to have any effect on them.

A rational discussion with a proggie? Hmm...

Progressives are adult children — an adult body housing the mind of a child of, maybe, thirteen. All emotion and genitals, almost no logic or reason.

They only correct after firm parental discipline and loss of privileges, and usually only after a major temper tantrum, and then only for a while.

I suspect they would only learn after they got their way, then suffered the consequences. That may be ok for one kid, but NOT tor a country.

“They hate him because he’s not theirs.”

Ditto.

I suspect many of them think he used to be theirs.

I think they’re jealous of us and him and Melania and their son. I suspect he represents the father or husband many of them never had, and wish they did. Jealousy is a powerful thing and unhinges people.

I have warned my liberal relatives (and intend to do so again before November 3) that THEIR vote for Harris/Biden will contribute to dooming our country to a socialist/communist third world Venezuela / Cuba like existence where our constitutional rights are nonexistent.

I have said that President Trump’s continued administration (as well as Republicans in the majority in the House and Senate) will block this destruction of our country. I have also said, for instance, that I hope they won’t miss air conditioning and heating for their homes and businesses since if they win, those things we take for granted will become luxuries that only the privileged “rulers” will have.

I have also said that they will be asking for my forgiveness should their side come into full power. But by then it will be too late.

I had a talk with a wonderful cab driver last night, who came up from the start and now is doing extremely well under capitalism. Yet he is voting for the Dems and was even intending to work for them between now and November 3.

I tried to tell him that the extreme wing of the Democrats, now trying to ascend to power using the party, would introduce communism and keep other people from doing what he did.

This is our problem as patriots: the extremists have the standard-issue Democrats in a bind because of all the damaging information they have on them. If the standard Dems hadn’t been so corrupt, this wouldn’t have happened. But they were, and so now this is happening.

If you can explain this to the slightly more open-minded of your liberal friends, you are doing everyone in America a service.

“Do not use reason on people who only operate emotionally.”

Agree fully.

So, what emotion-based lines do we use with a proggie?

“I’m voting for Trump because...”

“He’s tall and handsome and smart.”
“He’s the Dad I wish I had.”
“He likes fast food, like I do.”
“He doesn’t like babies getting vacuumed out of their Moms.”
“He doesn’t like line cutters, just like I don’t.”
