Vice President George H.W. Bush appeared buoyant, The Washington Post reported. It was the day after the 1984 vice-presidential debate, and most political strategists thought he had won it.
Now he was back on the campaign trail, meeting with longshoremen in New Jersey. He told one he had tried to kick a little ass at the debate.
A few hours later, a reporter who had caught his boast on a hot mic had a question.
Did you say you kicked Geraldine Ferraros ass last night?

“It’s a common football expression”.
I guess the Palin factor is irrelevant despite the malicious MSM that kicked her ass for years.
WashPoo wasn’t less sensitive to the treatment Sarah Palin.
The WashPoo is even insensitive to the treatment Sarah Palin got from their sacred Republican John McCain.
Not to mention Creepy Joe’s snide and snarky treatment of Palin, at THEIR VP debate.
Sarah fricasseed Joe, nonetheless.
Lemme think. Who won that election? Oh, that's right, Reagan and Bush. And not only did they actually carry New York State, Mrs. Ferraro--who represented a Congressional district in the borough of Queens, in New York City--and the hapless Dukakis did not carry Queens.
I'd say kicking a little a** and talking about it didn't go badly at all.
Bush did kick her ass. That debate wasn’t close. Neither was Pence vs. Harris. I think Bush actually said “kick a little tail” or something equally cringe. Feminism is cultural poison.
Harris: “Blah blah blah.”
Pence: “Actually, I disagree with that.”
Feminists: “Sexist Mansplaining!! WAHHHHHHH!!!!”
These people.
Oh really? Wasnt that the year Reagan WON 49 STATES?
OK, either you ladies want to be treated as equals, or treated as delicate wall flowers. You can’t have it both ways.
Feminists want to be treated like men, and since they are leftist pieces of schiff, they need their asses kicked just like any man.
Well, Reagan would have won all fifty states if not for this serious blunder....
right....
;-)
Did not go well? Uh, not sure they understand the meaning of that phrase..
The Democrats are all about treating the genders as equals...equal pay, equal status, equal responsibility, equal rights...yet they get bent out of shape, and play the victim card when a female political candidate is treated as an equal. I remember when Hillary was running for Senator of New York, and the media jumped on Rick Lazio, claiming he “invaded her space” when he walked over to her podium and handed her a form to sign, which was a pledge to forgo all so-called soft money for the duration of the campaign. His actions were labeled as bullying, and chauvinistic. Of course they were no such thing, but the media had a field day.
Actually they did win Queens County 53% to 46%. It was just one of seven counties carried by Mondale.
Completely agree. As a woman, I have thought that for years. I am all for equality and a woman should not expect “special treatment”. However, basic good manners should be the standard.
It did not go well for Ferraro.
Indeed she did. She was well informed and charming.
Yep - part of a standard cheering for a football game...
Rah Rah Ree - kick ‘em in the knee...
Rah Rah Ras - kick ‘em in..........the other knee...
Say what you want about Ferraro, but you can’t say she git where she did on her back and/or her knees.
‘Rats can’t seem to find any other kind of nominee lately.
Dem femmes should feel insulted beyond belief.
