President Donald Trump appeared to indicate on Thursday that Attorney General William Barr has more than enough evidence to indict members of the Obama administration for spying on the Trump campaign in 2016, including former President Barack Obama and former Vice President Joe Biden.
During a lengthy and wide-ranging intefrview with Fox News' Maria Bartiromo Thursday morning in which the headline news was that he would not participate in a virtual debate the president also dropped the potential bombshell that the Department of Justice has "plenty" of evidence to go after Obama administration officials.
"These people should be indicted, this was the greatest political crime in the history of our country, and that includes Obama and it includes Biden," the president said.
"These are people that spied on my campaign and we have everything and now they say 'we have much more,' and I say, 'Bill, we got plenty, you don't need anymore,'" Trump continued.
"We've got so much, Maria, just take a look at the [former FBI Director James] Comey report, 78 pages of kill, done by [DOJ Inspector General Michael] Horowitz," he added.
It was not immediately clear if the president was referring to documents and evidence already made publicly available or to information not yet revealed as a part of U.S. Attorney John Durham's investigation. Durham was tasked by Barr earlier this year with investigating the origins of the Trump-Russia collusion probe.
What's the background? On Tuesday, Trump authorized the declassification of all government documents related to the Trump-Russia investigation and the email scandal involving 2016 Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.
"I have fully authorized the total Declassification of any & all documents pertaining to the single greatest political CRIME in American History, the Russia Hoax. Likewise, the Hillary Clinton Email Scandal. No redactions!" Trump said in a tweet.
That announcement followed Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe's declassification of a CIA memo addressed to former FBI Director James Comey and former Deputy Assistant Director of Counterintelligence Peter Strzok.
The memo informed the two officials about "an exchange ... discussing U.S. presidential candidate Hillary Clinton's approval of a plan concerning U.S. presidential candidate Donald Trump and Russian hackers hampering U.S. elections as a means of distracting the public from her use of a private email server."
Ratcliffe also released notes taken by former CIA Director John Brennan that showed that Brennan was aware of the allegations. Brennan wrote: "Cite alleged approval by Hillary Clinton [on 28 July] on proposal from one of her foreign policy advisors to villify [sic] Donald Trump by stirring up a scandal claiming interference by the Russian security service."
Why does it matter? With the general election in 26 days, any major indictments are unlikely. But should charges be formally announced against a high-ranking member of the Obama administration it would certainly send shockwaves through Washington and across the country.

If this is some sort of ‘October surprise’, it maybe too little too late to make a difference in the election.
Not sure what they have been waiting for ....
Any day now. My sources say... TICK TOCK BOOOM BOMBSHELL
Democrats never get charged with anything. Just the threat of this is causing democrats and their minions to scorch the earth and ruin the election
Trump said he authorized it ALL to be released, including redactions. So when do we see the unredacted version?
God is in control and in charge of everything. . .including everyone’s next breath. In the midst of all this mayhem, remember “this world is not our home”. The main thing still remains the main thing. . . where one will spend eternity . . . and during these perilous times even the churches are forgetting their God commanded priorities.
Has anyone noticed that the closer Trump gets to exposing Obama and Biden, the louder and nastier Big Mo is getting?
Has she ever shot off her big mouth as much or as viciously? I mean ...she’s always been a loudmouth shrew but now it’s over the top!
Unredacting will only take a few more years.
Honestly, for me, this Spygate issue is the defining issue of my lifetime — I’m 56. This issue spans the months preceding the election in 2016 and has now extended in to the whole Trump term. So many bad characters including Republicans. It is BY FAR the most evil political conspiracy ever and the MSM will NEVER take it up. Half the country thinks our President is a Russian spy. It’s mind-boggling. If we can’t even indict people for it we have lost the country. That is not hyperbole. Have to say I am not at all hopeful.
It is my understanding that the redacted documents that were declassified referred to a Russian source that alleged Clinton approved a plan to link Trump with Russia to create a distraction for Hillary to avoid talking about the email scandal. A Russian source alone won’t prompt William Barr to panel a grand jury for possible indictments. Barr needs more credible sources.
No one is above the law, and “minority” is no excuse. Indict, trial, prison.
I dont expect to see anything against Biden or Obama before the election. That could have unpredictable consequences.
And if Biden wins, (which i doubt at the moment), No announced cases will move forward. Itll all just go away as politically motivated
Now they can indict the fat woman for improper handling of confidential government documents AND conspiracy for sedition.
I my opinion, all hell is going to break out, but it only has to wait a few weeks to get past the election. Trump wants it now, I want it now, we all want it now.
Trump needs to win the election, we need to hold the Senate and take back the House to get the best bang for the buck.
Line them all up against a wall.
When Barr decides to. Same as last time Trump declassified a ton of documents and left it up to Barr to release them at his discretion. None were ever released. These won't be either.
Why do people still think Barr is on Trump's side with this? He's playing the tough guy role to distract Trump's supporters into thinking something might actually happen while he slow rolls it, delays release over and over and over, hides data, stonewalls, and generally does nothing but talk tough while protecting the organization from consequences.
