Cruz on Trump Not Wanting Virtual Debate: ‘I Think the President’s Right on This’
Breitbart ^ | October 07 2020 | TRENT BAKER

SNIP

I think the president’s right on this, and unfortunately, I think this is a pattern we’ve seen play out throughout the debates, where the moderators and the debate commission have behaved like arms of the Joe Biden campaign,” Cruz explained. “I think at the first debate … Chris Wallace did a terrible job moderating. Last night, I think Susan Page did a better job moderating. She didn’t interrupt as much but her questions were still, you know, it’s an interesting hypothetical to go back and look at the questions she asked, and ask how would the questions have read differently had they been written by the Joe Biden campaign? And that virtually every question out of her mouth was from the left, with all of the assumptions Joe Biden and the Democrats believe. There was really very little pushing on the other side.”

“This decision here to hold a virtual debate, that benefits Joe Biden, that lets his staff be in the room, that lets him receive assistance,” he added. “One of the real concerns a lot of people have is if Joe Biden is even up to it and if you insulate him and let him do the debate from the basement, that’s eliminating the debate aspect of it, and listen, I think the reason the commission did this is the Democrats right now think they’re winning. They believe Joe Biden’s winning. I think they’re very happy for Joe not to leave his basement for another minute between now and Election Day, and if the commission sticks to we’re going to do it virtually, I think the president is right to say I’m not going to participate in this charade.”

So you believe that Trump not agreeing to a virtual debate with Joe Biden means he’s “acting like a toddler, and it will kill him eventually” and that this could “kill us?”

Do you realize how insane that sounds?

“...Joe Biden is a professional talker....”

And in a 40+ year career he still doesn’t do that well !

The moderators from the mainstream media and associated outlets have their own world view. They ask questions based on that world view.

Yes, but we don't have to accept that.
There is no “debate commission” in the constitution and its a a relatively new thing in the history of this country. They can't finction without the Republican Party who are constantly screwed by this partisan commission.
We gave nothing to lose by totally boycotting them, especial a TV ratings god like Trump.

Interesting how Cruz tried to expose Chris Wallace for the jerk he was and, Ainsley Earhart stuck up for Wallace. Word must have come down from on high that he is their guy.

The real concern is there is no medical justification for a virtual debate once Trump is disease free. This is being done to place a stigma on him as if he must be isolated from everyone even when it’s not true.

He should complain they are trying to place a scarlet letter on every American who has recovered from the virus.

Election is over. There are no undecideds left. Any debate right now for Trump is get out his base to vote. He can do that with rallies. Better than regional rallies, go for the nation-wide base at once with a rush Limbaugh show appearance. He’s doing that. Tomorrow

Trump has utilized leftist media. No he is moving on. Biden is welcome to use conservative media. But he chooses not to

We know who the people are who act most like toddlers. That is for sure.

If Trump agreed to a virtual debate, Biden’s flying monkeys would have him so trussed up with wires, earphones, and teleprompters he’d look like a head in a Bell jar. Good not for Trump to fall for it.

“He will be a formidable opponent if he runs in 2024.”

Maybe he’s just hanging back because that is appropriate to the vice president.

Maybe, I voted for him the ‘16 primary, and I would vote for him again. Personally, I would like to see Trump nominate him to replace JP Stevens between now and ‘24.

I saw Sean’s squeeze try to take Cruz down this morning and it was sickening. She spewed some garbage like, “I have to step in here Chris did a great job, sometimes what you see on tv isn’t how it really us”. Chris is our Fox family, we love him”. (Paraphrased).

I wanted to tell her, well Ainsley, I guess as long as YOU love Wallace, it doesn’t matter how biased he is and how much WE the viewers despise him.

I agree with you there. But Trump needs to reach his people maybe he should get in the Beast with a CB radio and hit the PA turnpike with a trucker biker convoy all the way thru Ohio.

Seems to me that Cruz has acted honorably since dropping out of the primary.

Well, no... he didn’t act at ALL honorably at the Republican convention (not endorsing Trump), but he’s been fine since and I completely forgive him for all that nonsense during the primaries - as President Trump obviously has.

I don’t recall him ever dropping out of the primary.

His crew was still trying to steal delegates during the
convention.

Then he refused to endorse Trump from the Convention floor.

About six weeks later he said he would vote for him. He
got on the phone for a short period (photo op). He never
extolled the virtues of Trump.

Then three days before the election, he attended three
rallies for Trump, and didn’t even mention his name at
the first one. He never fully endorsed. He merely said
he was going to vote for him.

With our nation exposed to a Hillary Clinton presidency,
he couldn’t find a reason to support Trump.

This is the same woman that would start a coup against the
President of the United States. There was nothing that
woman wouldn’t do for power, and with power God help us.

Yet, Ted just didn’t give a rats ass.

So acting honorably, is not exactly an accurate description
of what Ted did after the primary.

Let’s also recall that Ted won one normal primary. In the
Caucuses he won all of them, because the Republican
leadership manipulated things. He was perfectly happy to
play along with that.

Honorable?

I hear him say this on FOX and Friends this morning. Then that Ainsley gal had to interrupt and defend Chrissy Wallace because he’s part of the FOX family?! This Ainsley gal was the same one all upset that as a DIVORCED SINGLE MOM she couldn’t get assistance for her Au Pair to stay in the country illegally.

Yep. The very same Ainsley who said the moderator last night did a “great” job.
