I've heard that if the historical preservationists are trying to declare your house/neighborhood a historic monument, the best thing to do is just burn it to the ground before they finish. It's easier in the long term.

There are some advantages to living in a "soulless" 50 year old subdivision. No one will declare "Ranch house plan #4" historical.

AHHH! but they can! Any building over 50 years old can get on the register of historic places.

Just so people know where your comment is coming from:

This reversal has left GOP senators and administration officials flummoxed. Jorjani worked for six years at the Department of the Interior during the Bush administration and was a staffer in former GOP Speaker of the House Paul Ryan’s office.

Not sure why you didn't mention Paul Ryan as well though. 8>)

The meetings that I have been involved in have taken place on the reservation with the Tribal Council. You are their guest and they control the meeting, wherein they have to extract their pound of flesh first...

Historical preservation for a steel tower?
Trump needs to fire people. Why does he keep these people on?

If she kills 5G, you’ll thank her later. It does nothing that the long promised (and well paid for) fiber-to-all wouldn’t accomplish.

It takes a lot of bandwidth for 1984 2-way TV.

Asked why Jorjani was obstructing the FCC’s plan, Jonathan S. Adelstein, president and CEO of the Wireless Infrastructure Association, told InsideSources: “We don’t know. We’ve been desperately trying to reach out to her, but she won’t return our calls. She’s not interested in hearing our side of the story.”

The towers themselves don’t appear to be the problem. Sources inside the FCC note the agency has only received four or five complaints about the existing towers in the past 19 years. “If these towers have a siting problem, nobody’s noticed it in nearly twenty years,” an FCC insider said.

Personally, I don’t really see much need for this whole ‘5G’ thing. It’s mostly about lies used to sell more hardware to suckers glued to their phones.

5G is simply a move for wireless cell signals into a different frequency range, allowing for more bandwidth. More data can be sent faster. 5G compares to LTE like cable internet is to dial-up lines. That's it.

from what I understand those frequencies have difficulties even penetrating glass.

Um, yes and no. I don't know much off the top of my head on the penetrability of the 5G specific frequencies. But, it's definitely not great. Lower frequencies have much better range/staying power, they just have less space to transmit data on.

But here's another comparison for ya. It's like your wifi, with 2.4GHz (LTE) and 5GHz (5G) bands. 2.4 has better coverage and can go farther from your router, but 5G has shorter range but higher data capacity.

I'm not sure how 5G Cellular will squeeze into the bandwidth, as that part of the frequency range is much more divvied up. WiFi is actually around 5.8G, but much of the mid 5G range is already allotted I believe.

Just had a 9 month battle with my cell company. Their 5g was really messing up my service. When u look at the details, 5g does not go thru walls, and its made for stuff that does not exist yet. Its all show, and a waste of time and money.

Also, its only available in cities with football stadiums!
