Passengers on United Airlines and Cathay Pacific traveling out of Heathrow Airport will begin testing a new ‘COVID passport’ that in the future will check if someone has been vaccinated before they travel.
The technology is called CommonPass and will let people travel without being quarantined if they download an app to their phone which contains a negative COVID test or a vaccine certificate.
“The phone software is a digital health pass which can hold a certified COVID-19 test status or show someone has been vaccinated in future in a way designed to satisfy various governments’ different regulations,”...
Overseen by the Commons Project Foundation, part of the World Economic Forum, the pass works by having flyers upload their COVID test or vaccination certificate to the app which then generates a QR code that can be scanned by airline staff and border officials.

China must be real proud of their designer microbe.
I believe they used to have passports showing whether the holder had received vaccinations for smallpox, etc. COVID-19 is nowhere near as serious as the diseases our grandparents used to worry about, but I don’t care - I plan on getting the vaccination and if it will get me through the hysterical drama queens who are responsible for the mask regulations, getting a passport stamp is a small price to pay.

My shot records are long gone. Lost over time and relocations. Passport expired and i can’t see a reason to fly anymore anyway.
When California came out with the real driver’s license, I told my wife that I would never apply for it. That would end air travel basically.
At first she was upset with me. Now she is saying no way.
Then, throw whatever the latest virus gift from the Chicoms, requiring a vaccination, just forget it.
I can’t get myself to be mad about this. Airlines are suffering because people are afraid to get on the plane with others who might be sick with COVID. We know people suck, even people who KNOW they are sick often put themselves first, go out and infect others.
I can imagine an airline adding a “COVID-test” surcharge, and waiving it for those who have the “Vaccine passport”. If you don’t, you must show up early, and you get a fast-test and temperature reading, probably while you go through security.
Not super-effective, as can be seen by the White House breakout, but we are trying to quell fear, not stop a virus.

We automatically got “real ID” when we renewed our DLs. Still no plans to fly anymore.
Yes, we were issued a yellow immunization/vaccination records booklet during military service. And all those immunizations/vaccinations had some degree of side-effects for the unfortunate few. I may have had my last flights and cruise in 2019. Godspeed!
But we know that it will make people “feel better”, and that is most of the battle with COVID, making people comfortable.
Of course, you know what else would make people feel comfortable about COVID? If the media decided it was not a story, and completely stopped reporting on it.
Seriously, if we completely stopped testing, stopped reporting, a bunch of people would get sick, some would die, just like with the flu, and nobody would think twice about it anymore, and we would move on.
The Vaccine, and stupid masks, are ways we get to that point, so we go along to get along.
