State Department officials were explicitly ordered in spring 2019 to stop tracking 13 prominent Americans' social media accounts for information about the Joe Biden-Ukraine scandal because the monitoring violated federal law, according to emails that were originally redacted to hide the concerns from the American public.
"We are barred by law from actively monitoring the accounts of American citizens in aggregate and particularly from identifying and monitoring individual, selected accounts," a State Department official wrote in an April 1, 2019 email to officials in Washington and the U.S. embassy in Kiev
The unredacted emails, obtained by Just the News, raise new questions about the accuracy of State Department officials' testimony during President Trump's impeachment proceedings. They also provide a window into how the department used redactions in a Freedom of Information Act case to hide the potentially explosive information just weeks before Election Day 2020.
George Kent who testified at impeachment was worried how the Biden and Burisma funny business might impact the 2020 election.
Fire them all. Hire fresh faces.
Then book em Dano!
OK, they broke the law. Now what?
Try not paying your car tabs and going to Walmart.
They get a pay raise?
That seems to be the key question. Scores of these people in government break the law and nothing ever happens. No one goes to prison for violating constitutional rights or the other crimes. At best, they lose their jobs but like a miracle, they seem to always get lucrative book deals or jobs that just keep dumping money into their bank accounts.
I think it likely the fresh face in the Ambassador position(acting) is the same mold as the previous Ambassador. He is another career DOS employee..
Probably none, but the emails clearly show Yovanovitch deserved to be recalled by Trump. She was able to retire and is now likely to be making the rounds bashing Trump..
Something is rotten in DOS, DOJ, FBI, CIA and a bunch of other alphabet institutions. It’ll take generations to clean it all out, and we don’t have generations.
Then book em Dano!
The way I read this, these are NOT Spy-gate co-conspirators being caught for breaking the law - these people were investigating the Biden scandal in 2019 and were told to stand down because otherwise they WOULD be breaking the law.
Read here:
State Department officials were explicitly ordered in spring 2019 to stop tracking 13 prominent Americans’ social media accounts for information about the Joe Biden-Ukraine scandal ...
and:
We are barred by law from actively monitoring the accounts of American citizens in aggregate and particularly from identifying and monitoring individual, selected accounts,” a State Department official wrote in an April 1, 2019
So they were ordered to illegally spy on the Trump campaign in 2016-2017, but then ordered NOT to investigate Biden Ukraine corruption in 2019 because it would be illegal.
I agree, but I think it is too late or next to impossible. Liberals and lefties have taken over everything just like they have on college campuses...
Nobody is ever jailed.
And nothing will happen to any of them other then a slap on the hand!
Gotta make a start. That’s all that can be done. Plant seeds. Cultivate saplings. Preserve old growth where it exists.
When you are a member of "The Club" you never have to worry about going to jail or even being indicted for that matter. Club members ALWAYS protect their own.
...and nobody goes to gaol.
A lot of the senior people came in with the Clintons, laid low during Bush 2, and then were high enough in the food chain to wreck havoc when Obama was elected. If I remember correctly, Obama was able to move a bunch of political types to civil service before he left office. That is 2 steps backwards..
Had to look that one up..
