Have you ever noticed that when Democrats catch the ‘rona it’s a simple, unbiased news headline, but when it happens to Republicans it’s a “cautionary tale”? Consider this straightforward CNN headline last month about Ralph Northam: “Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam tests positive for Covid-19.” Now, compare that to when Missouri Gov. Mike Parson, a fan of freedom, personal responsibility, and getting things back to normal as soon as possible, tested positive: “This Republican governor refused a mask mandate. Then he got coronavirus.”

Not sure what to think anymore.
Based on what actually happened, I’d say his story tells us to stop the lockdown and mask nonsense.
Yeah, the failure of the mask to protect Northam and his wife was not used as an excuse for snarky comments from the media, but Trump was fair game. And, as others have pointed out, Trump and his staff probably undergo more rigorous Covid-19 screening and preventative measures than most of the general public.
The real “cautionary tale” here is that despite extensive precautions, the virus will get through.
Perhaps we’re looking at a TEOTWAWKI scenario lesson to be learned. Where’s our Omega Man? Our Robert Neville?
They are. Plus Hope Hicks, who also got it, apparently wears a mask all the time.
That said, I do think there’s reason to look into how, at a rigorously screened event, there could be so much spreading.
To me, the moral of the story is that you can’t prevent it...but you sure can treat it, and we should have been devoting our efforts to treatment rather than the impossible goal of stopping it. But of course the government power grab really wasn’t about the disease in the first place...
One study you’ll never see conducted is the one that reports how many people who wore masks, got the virus anyway.
Maybe the Democrats are passing out contaminated masks.

My wife and I were reminiscing not-so-fondly back to other Republican administrations - the Left has ALWAYS lied and twisted things. They have always disrespected them and called them morons.
If it is more aggressive now, it is only because President Trump hits back so hard.
I don’t think we should delude ourselves into thinking this hate is personal toward Donald Trump and it will go away when he leaves office. No way.
It seems very personal, but remember, before he announced he was running as a Republican the Left had no problem with him.
The Left wants Republican politicians to think it is just Trump they hate, so that they will go back to being ‘Presidential’ (pussies and appeasers).
I hope Republican politicians don’t get fooled by this “personal“ attack on Trump and think they can “get along“ by not behaving like Trump - not fighting back.

The newly mutated covid virus that only affects republicans was, in my opinion, spread by one or more persons at the rose garden with willful intent to do so. As someone mentioned here an easy way to be selective in who got infected was to have contaminated nasal sampling swabs for some. What happened there has a very low probability of being a random spread by chance alone. AND the timing was perfect. Was this another arrow from Pelosi’s quiver?
Viral proteins denature when exposed to the air. They can only travel within liquids. In the case of SARS-CoV-2, the primary source of transmission is respiratory droplets, which are vastly larger than the virus itself.
Masks reduce both the volume and the range of respiratory droplets which carry the infectious virions to other hosts. Touching your mask would imply an issue with fomites. But fomite transmission of SARS-CoV-2 is entirely theoretical and has not been shown to happen in the real world. Add to that the primary purpose of the mask is not to prevent infectious respiratory droplets from entering your nose or mouth. Rather, the mask reduces the risk that an infectious individual wearing a mask will exhale those droplets to where you can then become infected.
About whether or not people can get immune to it.
