President Trump vowed to continue lowering taxes if he defeats Democratic challenger Joe Biden on Nov. 3, tweeting from the Walter Reed National Medical Center on Monday morning that his administration would pass a sequel to the 2017 tax overhaul.

"BIGGEST TAX CUT EVER, AND ANOTHER ONE COMING. VOTE!" Trump wrote in a series of tweets from Walter Reed, where he's been staying since Friday to undergo treatments for COVID-19.

"IF YOU WANT A MASSIVE TAX INCREASE, THE BIGGEST IN THE HISTORY OF OUR COUNTRY (AND ONE THAT WILL SHUT OUR ECONOMY AND JOBS DOWN), VOTE DEMOCRAT!!!" he wrote in another tweet.

A stake through the serpent’s heart if it comes to pass.

I want the biggest stake possible.

That's nice, but how about we deal with getting jobs back in the country. There are certain businesses that are not going to survive the impact of COVID-19 (or more to the point, the political reaction to it). Some will not come back.

There is also the issue of the physical property destruction by Antifa/BLM, which will cause numerous businesses to either not re-open or move to another location.

Well there you go, vote for a tax cut or vote for a tax increase. Make it simple.

“That’s nice, but how about we deal with getting jobs back in the country.”

Tax cuts is how you get jobs back because it causes business investment.

I love Trump, but at some point we’ve got to control the deficit.

The key is cutting spending. Increasing taxes alone doesn’t help with deficits, because it depresses the economy. Indeed, that adds extra spending in the form of unemployment expenses.

Biden would not only increase taxes, but he’d also increase spending—a double whammy.

I think the key problem here is baseline budgeting. For any department, the defalut is for expenses to always go up, because the baseline is last year’s spending plus a CPI kicker. And, as often happens, when government runs under continuing budget resolutions, even less thought is given to the actual budget amouints.

Increasing taxes alone doesn’t help with deficits,

Increasing income taxes DECREASES federal tax revenue. The only way to increase revenue is through import tariffs. If you are not for import tariffs then you are not serious about fiscal responsibility.

It’s a nice thought but all Trump is doing with that campaign promise is being the politician everyone says he is not. We all know that the only chance this has of happening is if we retake Congress with a unbreakable majority and keep the Senate with the same majority.

True enough. You are getting into talking about the 20+ trillion dollar national debt, which has grown a few trillion this year due to Covid spending. The national debt exceeds the gross domestic product, which many economists tell us is a major danger zone.

The national debt and unfunded liabilities for programs such as Social Security are a major financial threat to all of our futures. But there hasn’t been political will to deal with these problems.

Trump already attended to that

1. His EO mandating federal offices move to enterprize zones

2. Departments get what they spend the previous year...no last minute spending on offices trips and other perks

Thank you President Trump for this prediction.

But we MUST win control of the HOUSE of Representatives to have a chance at a new tax cut.

THAT must be a priority too.

He should cut taxes by eliminating the IRS and income tax.

Trump would go down in history as the greatest president of the past century.

I had to pause for a few minutes when I was installing window blinds in my house and a sticker on them (not on box or instructions) said made in Vietnam.

Didn’t we drop a tons of bombs and lose 50,00 Americans for no good reason only to have window blinds made in Vietnam and not Fostoria, OH of some other smaller American town?

Made me mad. Our Govt stopped representing the people and only represents itself.

You get jobs back by stopping China and other countries from stealing the biggest wealth creator in any country, MANUFACTURING. That will require tariffs and better trade deals.

I could deal with taxes as they are for another 4 years if he would instead focus on cutting spending and reducing deficit. Drain the swamp and trim our bloated government.

Made in Vietnam is no problem IF Vietnam is buying equal amounts of American made products or services.

It is those ugly YUGE trade deficits is what steals our manufacturing jobs. Manufacturing is #1 wealth creator in the country. Next are mining (solids and liquids and gas), followed by farming.

Prosperity can not be created by retail selling of foreign made cars or goods if we have a trade deficit with those exporters.

So win the House (and keep the Senate).

I donated to Kim Klacik of Baltimore. And I am not wealthy.

Find a Republican Rep candidate and DONATE.

Trump knows how to sharply delineate the difference between himself and Biden, who is telling audiences he’ll raise taxes.

I remember Mondale insisting he would raise taxes during the 84 campaign. He ended up winning a total of 3 electoral votes, from his home state of Minnesota.
