Violent crime in New York City continued to spike through September, new data shows.
The number of September shooting incidents in the city increased 127% year-over-year from 67 shootings in 2019 to 152 shootings in 2020; September murders spiked 40 percent from 246 people killed in 2019 to 344 people killed in 2020, according to New York Police Department data released Friday.
"Despite the unparalleled challenges they face every day, our officers continue to engage with the community and zero in on the drivers of crime," Police Commissioner Dermot Shea said in a statement. "I thank the men and women of the NYPD who work relentlessly, day-in and day-out, to keep New Yorkers in every neighborhood safe."

Every few years Ive gone to NYC for a few days before Christmas to see the lights and enjoy snow the store fronts, Rockefeller Center tree, and Christmas in the city etc...I usually go to a matinee at one of the theatres..Last year I thought about going this year...
But of course I wont be after all due to the virus and also due to the fact that NYC is not a good place to be if youre a white senior lady...

Wall Street is slowly becoming Virtual Street as traders and thousands of CEOs, managers and office workers now learn that you don’t need to rent an expensive office building to work productively.
Computers, Teleconferencing and High Speed networks are making physical commute unnecessary.
Sounds like they haven’t defunded enough cops.

There’s too many cops. Obviously, what needs to happen for things to get better is the police have got to be disbanded. Go away po po so we can eliminate crime. Yes, that’s the ticket.

He could now say murders happen if people get in the way of killers. It happens. Killers kill.
